If I had known that, I might have finished my Sentinel play through first. My character is lvl 22 now before going into the Omega Relay. I was mopping up the last few scanned missions in hopes there’s some surprise XP rewards to get me to lvl 30.
I’m not sure whether I’ll start a 3rd play through as an Engineer. I do like Adept over Sentinel though. Oh, and I also like the Assault rifle over the Sniper. I think I’m about to bed Miranda after breaking Jack’s and Tali’s hearts. Finally, I managed to get the heavy weapon achievement unlocked as well.
I regret not getting ME1 now when it was $5. It’s $15-20 everywhere now.
The ship seems mighty lonely with everyone gone. I did enjoy seeing Joker play the hero. Props to Bioware for putting a character with a disability into a situation where he shines.
I lost Kelly, and I liked her. But, she turned to paste…
@#$%^! I lost grunt at the end of the “Protect the biotic” mission. He and Mordin are my primary squad. I think I might be able to switch him out with Garrus or Thane. Since Grunt is so blood thirsty, he looked like he stayed to fight.
Second thought, that last battle is a pain and I only reached level 25. I’ll save the effort for my lvl 30 run.
Now, Ilusive Man had a blue star behind him. Looks like he’s behind the aging of stars?
Now I get to do everything (the last 7 hours) over again on my Sentinel. d:
Edit:
The only Achievements I’m missing are reaching lvl 30, Tactician (doable), Brawler (no way!!), Long Service (doable), No one left behind, and Insanity (Hell no!!).
Huh. I loaded the autosave to find I lost Tali too. Don’t remember how or where. I thought I had her before the last battle. Yeah, I looked at squad selection and Tali is red. She was alive just after Grunt died. Dunno how she died.
Oh, and my adept reached lvl 26 at the end. My Sentinel is lvl 20 just before the IFF mission. Gonna be longer than 7 hours to finish.
LVL 30 is easy to do if you play thru a second time with a Game +
Brawler is also pretty easy. I mostly did using a Shotgun against Husks and Geth. Just hit them back and head-shot them.
Also i managed to do No One left behind on my first play thru. You dont have to save the entire crew of the Normandy just the characters you can use. I am having problems getting Tactician though for some reason.
Would rushing to the relay really saved her? As in some other random crew would have died in her place?
Thanks! Grunt had lvl 2 or 3 Fortification, but his Krogan Berserker was maxed.
I’ll probably Youtube it within the next half hour, but is it red under the Renegade ending? Like the Paragon and Renegade bars themselves? It was just so noticeable at the end. Would be cool if it somehow mirrored your stats during the game.
I’m thinking since I hit 26 this game, lvl 30 should be attainable in the next. Also, I couldn’t afford all of the squad upgrades. By the end, I had 36,000, but a 50k Tech damage was avail at Saronis, and a Heavy Skin and Shotgun upgrades was available from Kenn’s salvage…
It just occurred to me that both of those upgrades would help Tali and Grunt respectively… Wouldn’t that be funny if that would have saved them?
I’m half way to Tactician. There’s a timing element for it. I have to use Singularity, then Miranda or Jacob would have to use Warp or Pull on it. But, I tend not to use them.
Anway, I tried brawling a few times and can’t get the timing right. They’d be too weak, that my punch would kill them or a squad would kill them just before I fire. And, I’m using the left shift to pause too.
If you do nothing after they get captured, just go straight thru the Omega 4 Relay I think you can save the whole crew. Dont quote me on that though. I goofed and did Legion’s Loyalty mission after the crew went missing. By the time I got to the Collectors base the only people alive were Chakwas and a handful of others (who later got killed anyway but at least they didnt get turned into paste to feed a giant T-101).
Ah, I saw where Tali’s “death” was. It was her body laying on the floor. It was so subtle that I didn’t recognize it as Tali. I thought it was a random body since Grunt had an actual death scene. And, Jacob got a flesh wound at a door that would have been his death as well.
Yeah, it was a red star, and I felt my strength weakening against it. (:
I used the planet with the crashed ship and the mech cargo. The mechs will just keep coming so you can just have one person use Pull and then Warp with another. You could also save before a fight, do your thing, then reload. Achievements are not affected by saves or loads so you can just replay a battle until you get it (at least on XBox this is the case, not sure about PC). It is also much easier in anything under hardcore because that is when most unprotected enemies get armor and you have to take it out before Pulling.
They have all been alive when I arrived. I have heard some only saved the Doc so there are probably a few variations.
Each level is 1000 exp. None of the exponential gain that was in ME1. It would come really fast on a second playthrough.
So I have been playing as a Renegade on my second play thru. It really makes my skin crawl playing that way. I hate my Shepard when he is Renegade. I dont understand how anyone would follow him. He leads through fear and intimidation. The only one who i can see following him is Grunt and maybe Mordin. But I feel i must do it so i can see all the storylines in the Mass Effect Trilogy. I still need to go back and replay ME1 again as Renegade. And I want to play thru again as complelty Neutral. From what i have heard they are three very different stories.
Well its a more neutral than either the Paragon or Renegade. I have head there is a different outcome to some conversations than i have had if you just ttake the middle option always.
The good doc (and the remaining survivors) died on me since I wouldnt spare anyone to chaperone them on the way back to the ship.
My first (and only, so far) playthrough was renegade but most of my renegade choices were practical. When the whole damn galaxy is at stake you dont have time for polite conversation and daisy picking.
Im trying to think off the top of my head which members of your team would really object to doing it full on renegade: Tali(she gets stuff done but is kind of softhearted), Samara (shes a killer but is pretty hardline when it comes to where she stands), Jacob (maybe, hes willing to cross the line but not when it comes to people hes in charge of), Garrus(I think he would balk if you took it too far)
Mordin- Genophage, nuff said.
Grunt- Lives to fight.
Legion- a machine.
Miranda- will do anything to accomplish the mission.
Zaeed- I think the first encounter with him pretty much says it all.
Jack- Lives to fight.
Thane- assassin.
All these people have their lines in the sand but for the most part they are more than capable of doing terrible things to accomplish their goals. Heck, not just capable, theyve done it; and their goals were generally not so altruistic as saving the galaxy.
So am I the only one who choose to kill Samra and keep her daughter. I did it accidentally, but I dont regret it. She instantly becomes loyal to you and you can hear her side of the story which is not as bad as what Samara tells you…from a certain point of view
I got the daughter on my play thru as a Soldier. I am going to keep the mother in my Renegade play thru as an Adept
And on being Neutral i am just curious. I want to see how the Trilogy plays out in all three paths.
But i suspect there are going to be more than paths depending on how things go.
On a side note something i completely missed but now know after listening to the Rebel FM talk aobut their play thrus but it was Liara who gave your body to Cerberus after rescuing it from the Shadow Broker.
I too also think the Shadow Broker is going to be the Big Bad in the next game. Or one of the Big Bads at least. Kinda like a ZORG character.
I also kind think that hte Shadow Broker may be the Illusive Man
In ME 1 I played 100% Paragone and had a great time. Tried another play through as a Renegade and was creeped out too. Not my idea of a hero. Best lines though. Just not good enough for an entire playthrough.
I occasionally split the difference and play my usual style then go back for a scene to replay as a Renegade. You tube is great too.
ME2, largely Paragone. Saved everyone. Started a Renegade play through and I’m bored.
That is the great thing about these games. You get to play the way you want to. Most of my friends are Paragones, but a few are Renegades and a very few are happy playing both ways.
I dont think my renegade score was high enough to recruit Morinth. The last convo choice before Samara bursts in was grayed out. Guess Ill have to save that for another go through.
I think the likelyhood of the shadow broker being the illusive man is very very low. The shadowbroker was working with the collectors first of all. Second of all shepherds body was being handed over to the shadowbroker by the blue suns until Liara, with an assist from cerberus recovered the body. Those two actions alone are so contradictory that the ME writing team would need to be writing the story with an amazing amount of layers(so far the Mass Effect story is pretty straight forward, not exactly deep thinking material).
I got Morinth as an almost pure Paragon. Maybe by being such one sided my Mind was stronger and i could resister her urges and was thus able to make a choice.
