How unbelievably cheesy was Lee’s “You wont be forgotten”, standing soppily on the hillside on his own…???

And Audra I have news for you. Lee’s crappy ginger mullet: NOT COOL. How did he go from short black hair to big ass 80’s Bon Jovi Ginger do. That is not a soldier! The scenes with him holding a gun were comical.

KARA? Easy way out – they used her to move the plot along over and over and then cheated us of any meaningful resolution. Don’t get me wrong I love the idea of her being an agent of Good, who though unaware of it, exists to guide humanity. BUT: It just did not fit with Kara’s personality AND all the plot points her character has gone through and/or caused. Plus: the harbinger prophecies did not come true. (nor did they for the dying leader BTW)…

Baltar? Way to much of a comic relief character to be an angel. And what’s the deal? He and six are both angels and humans that look exactly like the equivalent angel. Plus Callis acting when he is an angel is soooo annoying. With his crap arrogant kinda tone of voice etc. He is just not convincing. I mean what is the deal with Gaius Baltar? Science Genius/Religious Leader/ Faker/ Angel – TOO MANY contradicting qualities

Lords of Cobol: who were they???

Bottom line: I have been a huge fan of the show. I have talked about it and recommended it to everyone I talk to. I still love the show. But the simple truth is that they set up millions and millions of massive questions and build up the suspence to such a point were ANY END would be an anti-climax. The show took it self so seriously that they had me thinking that the end of the show would reveal the secrets of the universe and the meaning of life (lol), as if I was reading some religious text like the Tora or something…

In the end what did the show teach us? What were the underlying themes? Man VS machine? That was handled in such a way that was irrelevant to us. I don’t think we are destined to TRY and create mechanical life. I don’t think it’s a topical subject. We are playing God – this is true. But through Manipulation of DNA and Genetic Modification. But robotic life becoming self aware and rebelling because it is being maltreated ?? and this is the eternal CYCLE of the UNIVERSE#??? Noooo.

“What makes us human?” That is a question that is valid. That is the burning question that arises from humanity’s ability to replicate organic life. “Breaking the cycle of man vs his abused creation?” NOT INTERESTING. The show took a turn for the worst when this became the underlying theme.

And finally: Lee’s little Amish proposal? Fracking Criminal. These people have been spitting blood to survive for 4 years and now they are going to give up all technology and become farmers? 99% of the fleet probably had no knowledge of farming, and they are just going to risk survival on a strange, presumably unpredictable to them, planet. What a huge risk to take with the lives of so many people? Just for “a clean slate?” People would definitely stand up against this hippy crap. And most importantly throughout 4 seasons we have been asked to feel for the Good ship Galactica (supposedly we are meant to see her as one of the characters) , and love the COOL Vipers and sweet FTL’s…and suddenly “Technology is bad because we always rush with our heads and leave our hearts behind.” LAUGHABLE

Rich LA dwelling writers’ piss poor philosophising. And this is it. Drama and effects and great characters and writing are all well and good, but a story is ALWAYS going to suffer if the ideas, the philosophy (explicit, implicit, deliberate or inherent) behind it is not coherent, consistent and most of all honest.

The Head people looked like the did because that’s what Caprica and Baltar needed/wanted to see.

Their tech would last long anyway. They’ve got no infrastructure. (Although I think the rush to embrace the fact was due as much to a desire to explain the lack of artifacts.)

Lords of Cobol: who were they???

Obviously they were the original humans who evolved on Kobol, discovered/developed A.I., built the original cylons and started the original cycle. Head Baltar’s “take your pick” list pretty much answered that question.

Ok, and to add to your rant - who was the brilliant one to come up with the idea of giving the basestar to the centurion/centaurions??? Yeah, that’s gonna work out well for you…“They’ve earned it.” Isn’t it always the centurions who start crap!!!

i bought rdm’s original daniel explanation when he first gave it and have spent the weeks since then floored that people are so heavily involved in daniel. most folks have just accepted that he is abel, and cavil is cain.

Well, if they don’t have any actual physical form, then they wouldn’t need to age or do laundry.

I Mean that if Baltar and six are long dead these two are not Head Baltar and Head 6…they are the actual angels…so why do they still look like Baltar and Six

So we know who they are. I mean, how awkward would it be if one said, “Hey, remember when I looked like a six model cylon way back when?”

they would not have to say anything of the sort. Two characters talking and expressing Baltar/6-like ideas would have given us a subtle hint that they were the 2 angels we knew as Baltar and Six. That way we would get a better idea of their nature as eternal, devine entities…as opposed to two confusing characters that dont really exist, really like sex and happen to look like Baltar and six. What the hell is the point?

I agree about Lee’s hair - I much prefer the shorter hair of yesteryear but - it’s not like he had time to cut his hair in the middle of all that so I’m okay with it - and the orange color was due to the lighting on the Colony I believe.

RDM said in his last podcast that Daniel was never meant to be anything important. In No Exit Ellen said Daniel was killed by Cavil - that is what happened therefore that is your answer.

Kara was the harbinger of Death (she lead the humans to join forces with the rebel cylons which in turn resulted in the desctruction of the ressurrection hub - she brought “death” to the cylons. She also lead them all to their end - earth and the end of the human and cylons races as sepearte but pure - they were joined and became a new race

He wasn’t an Angel - he was human. Caprica’s Angel looked like Baltar because that image could influence her. Can’t really comment on your hatred of Callis’ acting skills

I had some issues with this as well ( the part about them giving up technology. I think that the only way to avoid the cycle repeating would have been to keep at least some of the technology and better records so that “we” would know now to create AI - as it stands the cycle will just go on like it did on Erf with the people foregetting what they are and then making the same mistake over and over again. Then again - I understand that to make the entire thing work aka the idea they are our ancestors is to make all the giant spaceships go away - because I’m pretty sure we would have noticed those.

When did she say this? I think she said that scientists believe people began in Africa - she said nothing about christianity or Islam…

There are 12 cylon Models isn’t a rule first of all - it was a fact. Daniel was dead before the series began therefore at the time of the miniseries - there WERE only 12 cylon models. And Caprica six is the one that told Baltar that and as far as she was concerned there were only ever 12 models - as far as I can tell the other models besides Cavil had no idea there ever was a daniel.

The rule was already broken: There were the #8 models (the Sharons), so if you add 8 + 5 you get 13. There was a missing Cylon already, they just tried to explain it away to make the most anal fans happy (you know, the ones that get pissed off with any inconsistency or plot hole in fan forums and start ranting)

Sci-Fi and Fantasy fans, individually, are really cool people. But in group we act like an overgrown spoiled kid with Asperger’s Syndrom and OCD: e-v-e-r-y-d-e-t-a-i-l-h-a-s-t-b-e-p-e-r-f-e-c-t. Every contradiction or unexplained detail is cause for tantrums. It’s fine to explain anything with technobabble that involves words like quantum and tachions and extra dimensions, but do not dare mention the word “god” (and hey, I am an atheist too).

Seriously folks, just relax and enjoy the fracking TV show.

In addition, there’s been a consistent 12 + 1 pattern through out the series. 12 zodiac symbols + Ophiuchus; 12 colonies + Earth; 12 cylon models + Daniel, etc…

Just a quick rant from my end…

But who the Lords of Kobol are have NEVER been a question on the show. They are part of the mythology of the show. If a character had ever asked hey Who are these pesky Lords of Kobol then finding an answer would be a big deal. The question about which religion is right can be a question but you don’t need to know who the gods are physically. I think the only questions that need to be answered are the ones asked on screen.
