Life is teh suck today because (a.ka. the official B_tch & Moan thread)

Yes, he was in critical care the last I heard. Others are even dumber. (Sorry Surfers) Two people have died going swimming in the ocean. The guard towers were removed and red no swimming signs were posted. Oceans have hard currents underwater on a clear day that are deadly. When you have a storm and get hit by one you are lucky if they find your body. A man died for testing a generator in his garage. That was from lack of knowledge but has happened before. If he was here four years ago he should have known better at least he was not attempting to fly. The others were car accidents. I am not sure how they related to the storm.

I feel sorry for the families and thankful that it was not worse. Hang on North Florida it going to be a bumpy ride.

Now we just sit here and hope that the secondary flooding is not bad. Oh and there are storms lining up in the tropics.

I took on fay with my transformers kite…and won.
So today i was going to firewire my old comp. who recently had part of the hard drive die. Now before I thought I had all my files, and that I had all my files. However today i found out that 1 folder is missing. The folder entitiled “Matrix crap”. It was my collection of excelent essays collected from myself and around the 'net. The worst part is my glorius 12 page essay on greek mythology in the Matrix series. Now im scouring the internet to find it because im sure its out there somewhere.

OMGF i found it

That goes under cool crap thread.

not anymore…its the 1st revision…it kinda sucks. Its only like 8 pages, not like 12 1/2

The final version was epicly amazing, this one kinda sucks

I hate today. I had to get up extra early and do six million loads of laundry, rush home to shower and change, rush back out to take two buses for a part-time job interview I didn’t get, my kitchen has FRUIT FLIES OMG, my cat stole an expensive skein of yarn and tangled it all up - and it is SUNDAY, my favorite day of the week.

WOE IS ME. Also, my DVD of the Matrix Reloaded is scratched. Even more woe.

I feel better now! Off to the DVD rental place to see if I can get a replacement.

It is raining again. :frowning:

My brother and his family live in Vero Beach, which I guess was getting a bit of flooding. As far as I know they’ve only had very minor damage but I still worry about you guys down there. It’s been long enough since I’ve lived through a hurricane (the last I remember was when I was 7, if you don’t count the one that hit the DC area in 2003 during our first stint here, and that was a pretty extraordinary event but didn’t affect our lives too much, thankfully). Stay dry and safe.

rush home to shower and change, rush back out to take two buses for a part-time job interview I didn’t get,

I feel your pain there. :frowning:

I hate mosquitoes. And really any bugs that bite people. Particularly, me.

I always hate mosquitos. It was just brought to the forefront of my mind because yesterday I got 9 (yes, 9) mosquito bites in the space of about 2 minutes, between my ankle and about halfway up my shin. Only 3 on the other leg, thank God. And 2 on the back of my upper arm.

And they all itch. Cortizone is not helping. I’m this close to just taking a bath and hoping that the bubbles will distract me.

Teh suck.

I honestly think that was the worst part of the day. :stuck_out_tongue: The best part was re-watching “Hero” from S3 (I finally got my hands on some S3 DVDs, woot) and marveling at how much I love this show.

Since mosquitos are the Florida state bird I know what you mean. You can get Benadryl spray that is very helpful. It is over the counter and will not make you tired like the pills. Spray a bit on and the itch goes away. It is a bit sticky but it works.

I thought the state bird of Florida is the “Palmetto Bug” (a.k.a. Flying Cockroach). You learn something new everyday.

Since we have had so much rain the mosquitos wins. Also the Palmetto bug is major yuk but does not bite.

Educational moment.

There is a check made out to me for lots of money… and I can’t find it!

It is 95 degrees with 100% humidity. For those who know heat index it will feel like 102 out tomorrow. The school air conditioning is having issues too.

The frakkity-frakkin’ local township soccer club that I have so many gripes about has managed to LOSE my son’s registration. They demand registration for the fall by the end of June (to get that frakkin’ “discount”) and I NEVER hear who the coach is or when practices are until literally DAYS before they begin. It is so poorly run, I can’t stand it! And now, since I haven’t heard anything about my son’s team YET AGAIN, I email the age group coordinator and she doesn’t have any record of him. Are you frakkin’ kidding me?! And she has the cajones to condescend to me when I complain about the last minute thing, telling me that it “used to concern her” before she volunteered for the club. Uh…well, I would think it would concern you even more now, since you’re NOW PART OF THE PROBLEM YOU DUMB WHORE!!! (Solai/ Pike/ Chuck, I apologize in advance if yo have to edit that.)
Did I mention that I have a lot of gripes about our soccer club?

Never mess with a angry mom. Go get her!

I had a student have nerve to answer her cell phone in my class. I took the phone from her and it kept ringing so I answered it. It was her mom! I told her that she is in class and the mother said Oh I am sorry I thought she was at lunch. The phones are not to be used at lunch ether.

The funniest thing about the rant is that it’s immediately followed by your cute little manga avatar. Hard to picture that avatar making that rant…

I’m sure it would be even more impressive in person…

In all actuality, I thought about ranting a bit more too her (beyond my initial complaint about everything being last-minute) but she’s a mid-level drone and it’s not going to get me anywhere. I understand that she has a difficult job, because they are constantly putting feelers out for coaches and getting bupkiss. What the soccer club is failing to recognize, however, is that they are blaming parents for not stepping up while they are alienating the parents who DO. My husband coached for a season and was so upset by how disorganized everything is that he refuses to do it again. So, basically, ranting about the state of the club will get me nowhere. I am sure I’m pissing her off with my pushy behavior regarding finding my son’s registration. I paid $150 for my two kids and I expect that they don’t lose my kids’ registrations, you know?

As I look toward my future as a secondary English teacher, I wonder what it will be like. Honestly, some of the stuff you say on this forum terrifies me. (Not necessarily the above incident, specifically, but some of the other stuff.) After being out of the workforce for the past 8+ years, I really wonder what the future holds for me. While I think I know where I’m headed, some of the stories you teachers tell make me wonder if I’m cut out to deal with it all. (I already have a thankless job that I love–it’s called “Mom.” Of course, the pay kinda’ sucks. ;))
