GRRRRrrrrrrr…
Thank you. Done now.
Damn. That is teh suck.
Ouch! That’s gotta hurt. I hope you have good luck getting a new place the lay your head.
Hi Ron,
How are you doing? Geez, man, you were smart making the decision to end BSG on your own terms. I really got hosed when they cancel my show Firefly on me.
-Love Joss W.
Yes, Armando. You are on my Joss’s naughtly list. You need to get your priorities straight. What the hell have you been doing? Taking care of your family? Working? Helping the homeless? That stuff is all craap compared to watching Firefly, Buffy and whatever that other show I did is called…
That’s just cold. So sorry to hear that.
Hey now: I DID watch Firefly. I even “blogged” about it on this forum. I was gushing over your show. Don’t blame me if I don’t really like vampires (unless they’re played by Willem Defoe) so I haven’t gotten into Buffy or that other one with the dude from Bones. What was that called? House or something? Oh right, it was Angels and Demons, wasn’t it?
Okay, Okay. I forgive you. As long as you eventually did watch it.
There a lot of people who never watched Firefly when it was originally broadcast and only saw it on DVD. Chuck is one example, and ThotFullguy…and Thot never even saw a single episode of Buffy or Angel, the schmuck…Oh wait, no…I’m ThotFullGuy…I mean…PAY NO ATTENTION TO THAT MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN!!!
-Joss(?)
That storm was INSANE out your way Thot. Here in the S East of MA we simply had rain and some moderate wind…our good friends out past Worcester got completely slammed, as you did I surmise, with thick icing on the trees, and damaging winds. They also lost power and after draining their water lines so they wouldn’t freeze, hightailed it to a nearby town to camp out with relatives. I couldn’t believe the pictures they’d taken, roads almost completely blocked by iced up, fallen trees, wires everywhere…not good.
To ease the pain we had them over for a lobster dinner and drinks. The men talked BSG a bit, and then the men and kids watched the newest Clone Wars episode, and the women…did whatever it is women do in the other room.
Hope all’s back to normal at your place !
It was quite the impressive display in northern Connecticut, as well…for all the downed branches and chunks of ice randomly dropping onto roadways afterwards, there was a fascinating “temperature line” effect in the days that followed, where you could look at a hill or mountainside, and see the perfect line of altitude where freezing point was maintained, and the bare-branched trees were perfectly crystalline above that line for days…still are, in a few higher points around the county.
Thanks TG. We have an answering machine plugged in at home, so we call home every now and then—figuring if the power comes back on the answering machine will answer and we’ll know the power has come back on. So far no luck. So we’re gonna stay another night here at my sister’s house tonight–she’s just the next town over which is cool.
I drove by the VFW Hall this morning and their were about 10 Electrical/power rapair trucks from the Hydro Quebec company in parking lot having a pre-planning meet up before heading out to work. That’s Canada!! Hooray!
Thanks Canada for lending us a hand!!
Alll that said, We heard from friend of my wife’s, who heard from a retired cop, who heard from a town fireman that it will be Wednesday before we get power back.
Well, it ain’t a crippling ice storm (I’m just glad you’re safe, Thot. Seriously!) but my iPod decided to die today. Can’t figure out what’s wrong. And I found out as I was firing it up to listen to podcasts 130 and 131 on my way home from work. Ugh!
Mine died a few months ago. I took it in to the Apple Store so their Genius Bar people could look at it. The guy pronounced the battery to be the problem so I could get a 10% discount on my new iPod Touch
I lived around Waterbury for years. The temperature line normally goes right through that area. You could drive up from New Haven where everything is wet, crest one of the suburbs where it’s all snow, drive down into wet Waterbury, and then back up into the snowline. It’s pretty wild.
Well, that’s good to know. I think I’ll be buying a new iPod with the next disbursement of this professional development grant I got earlier this year (one of the advantages of being a musician: things like iPods are considered a professional expense!). Although my wife has been hinting that my in-laws’ Christmas present is something I’ve been talking about getting for a while, and an iPod is a possibility.
Still, I was hoping I could have TWO. I like using these things for classes too. Oh well!
Sucky thing #1: My kid has GERD and he’s miserable. His stomach hurts and he’s got acid coming up constantly. The med he’s on doesn’t seem to be helping. Kept him home from school yesterday. Sent him today with a bottle of Maalox to give to the nurse in what I am sure is a more palatable flavor than what she has available. The hoops I have to jump through to get him in to see a specialist at Hershey Medical Center (the same hoops I am concurrently jumping through myself) are unbelievable. It could be months. In the meantime, I have to watch my child suffer and deal with pharmacy insurance that is unwiling to pay for his medication after the end of the year.
Sucky thing #2: Just took the plastic wrapping off of the huge shadow box frame I purchased for my hubs’ LOST paraphenalia. (Extras that came with his LOST dolls, er, “action figures”) There is a HUGE frakkin’ scratch across the front of the plexiglass that I couldn’t see when the plastic wrap was there. So, now I have to go return that and hope that the next one doesn’t have the same type of flaw.
I’m starting to feel very stressed and I’ve had a headache since yesterday. sigh
Wine. You need wine. And maybe some chocolate.
