Life is teh suck today because (a.ka. the official B_tch & Moan thread)

But I thought your name was your passport?

3 hours of driving in the rain, and all I got is this lousy burrito.

That sucks. Although I’m glad you spent the evening with us instead.

I may be talking out my butt. But I think if you dig around enough on audio editing and DJ sites, there are some relatively simple programs/ algorithms/ whatevers that allow you to strip vocals from sound files pretty simply.

That’s a good way to look at it. I think you just exhude positive energy, or pheromones, or something.

Just watch out about that whole “not looking” thing. That’s when you tend to find “the one.” (I know, it’s a clichee, but that’s how I met my wife.)

I need it doing in my neck and lower down (I really hate the Doctors, they freak me out, and for the last 5 years have pretty much just poked me with sticks)

I’m getting it done soon, but… I’m dreading it.

I AM looking, and it’s insane out there.

To be fair, I am looking in Manchester, which tends to the freaky-deaky anyway… as it should, as i am one of them.

But as Tracey Jordan says, Freaky-deakys need love too.

or, computer classes apparently.

Today’s suckage: disease. I don’t know who gave this crud to me but I’m NOT happy. Seriously, I’ve been home by myself since Wednesday night - how the heck did I get sick? Ugh…

The higher up you go the easier it is. I was scared but I must tell you the pain and loss of my ability to walk was scarier. If you are like some people that just do not want to know then make sure your doctors agree and do it. I did so much research that I almost could do the surgery myself. I hate the unknown. I checked on my doctor and the three types of surgery I could have. Lucky me I had to have the most invasive of the three. I made it through well and happy I did it. If you have any questions I am here. Freaking out is normal just do not let it stop you from being healthy.

Stepping off soap box, lecture over.

What did you do Tuesday?

Worked. Worked Wednesday too. Darn co-workers - they did this to me!!

I teach so it is always the kids. I keep the tissues and germ X on a file cabinet in the back of the room. So far it has worked. I should not have said that. The last time I bragged that I did not get sick I got a stomach virus.

So plenty of liquids, rest, GWC podcast, GWC forums and you will be cured in a few days. If not go to a real doctor.

Resting won’t be a problem. I’ve been stretched out in the recliner all day!! Only a slight fever, chills, sore throat, and coughing so far. No tummy things - thank the Gods. As long as I don’t get pneumonia again, all will be well.

So sorry you aren’t well on a nice long weekend. If it makes you feel any better, I’m taking something inappropriate out of the puppy’s mouth every three minutes. I don’t understand why that wonderful Kong toy can’t keep him busy 24/7.

I think you’re right about my exudate Armando  I think it’s because I am quite approachable that people think they can tell me or ask me anything. Interesting about the “not looking”. Maybe it’s because you’re more relaxed and open to opportunities rather than getting your knickers in a knot chasing every piece of tail around.

Wise words from TJ. Never been to Manchester, but I’ll take your word for it. Are you on Twitter with any locals? That is a good way to network

Sorry to hear that. Nearly everyone on Twitter and heaps of forum peeps have been sick, including me. Hope it passes soon.

I went for years with upper back pain, which progressively got worse, became chest pain, arm pain, and an undetermined number of other symptoms I just “lived with” including foot & hand numbess, dizziness, etc. Long story short & 1 MRI later, I had surgery on my cervical spine, removed 2 discs & fused 3 vertebrae with a titanium plate. Best decision ever!!! And I would do it again tomorrow if I was told I should. That was a little over a year ago and I am so glad. It was all worth it!

Well, I was never into “chasing tail.” I had this thing about respecting women and wanting to befriend them before wanting to get involved with them. The only time I ever tried to pick someone up I had no idea what I was doing, totally misread signals and ended up trying to hit on someone who was very seriously engaged. I was so embarassed! Of course, being into being friends first meant that I was all alone all through college, when most women didn’t seem to be into that. Once I, and they, got a bit older, things improved.

Yeah, something’s going around. I got a cold late last week which has largely passed except for the cough, which is still pretty bad to the point of keeping me up at night and making me woozy from time to time. If I didn’t have the week from hell coming up this week I’d make a point of going to see a doctor.

You need to child proof your house. Young dogs like kids put everything in their mouths. The only difference is dogs have sharp teeth at the time. I forget how young the youngest AZ is. They also need to remember if there is something they want to keep safe they have to pick it up. Prevention as they say is easier than following the puppy everywhere.

Check with your vet it the dog is old enough to have peanut butter. If he is put peanut butter or whatever your vet suggests in the kong toy. The puppy will keep busy trying to lick it all out.

Pup class 101 over. I bet you did not even know you joined the class.

Pllease add chicken soup to the list. I hope you are feeling better today.

Actually, I appreciate the advice, it’s been 9 years since we had a puppy and we’re all a little rusty. Last night he barked and cried in his crate for almost an hour. Then hubbyAZ came home with teenAZ from a concert and bellowed, “Weasley- go to bed!” That did the trick.

The youngest Az is almost 13 (in 30 days!) and all the AZ men leave socks/shoes/etc. around the house. It should be interesting. I might have a regular spot here on the bitch and moan thread.

Dawn, to make the Kong toy more enticing and last longer, fill it with peanut butter that is mixed with kibble…then…and this is the important part…FREEZE it. When you give it to him it will take him so much longer to get through it and will keep him busy. I guarantee it!

I don’t want to go back to work tomorrow. My teaching calendar being what it is, I’ve been off since Tuesday. It’s been nice, except for being sick. Tomorrow I have to get up at 6 again, to drive an hour to teach kids who don’t always want to be taught. On top of that, I’ve got a concert at the end of the week with a hellishly difficult program (who picks this music? Oh, right…) which is going to involve some late nights.

Please, Superman, go round the earth one more time for me!
