Good News! My unemployment is at an end! I can not believe how short it was… Thank you all for your kind comments and support. And I do not know if any of you prayed or sent me ‘white light’ or some such, but it sure as hell seems to have worked. Thank you one and all, God Bless.

Found out last night I’ve been removed from adoption/fostering program permanantly, thanks to my brieef hospital stay, which runs counter to everything my doctors, councilors and social workers say, heartbroken.

My company closed so I’m jobless but I’m getting the same pay more or less on unemployment soooo that’s okay. I will survive
I’m in the same boat to. The unemployment helps but would rather be working. Heck may as well try bloging or something. At least keep me busy.

If you need something to help with the bills through the Holiday season…try your local retail stores as most are hiring right now. It’ll be part-time work, but you may be able to keep drawing part of unemployment too if you don’t make over your maximum weekly benefit amount…though that may vary by state.
Thanks looking into it now. Bigger issue is dealing with family member with cancer. Still going with treatments and now is in rehab with a fractured ankle. That and she is 85 complicates the problems. Right now she is my biggest concern. In the end faith and conviction will get me through. I know it will work out and get better.

I’m sorry DP and Orion. I was there earlier in the recession. Gryper is right that you can work part time and still get bennies. I tutored 10 hours a week the whole time I was out of FT work. There’s a formula to reduce your unemployment check by a percentage of the money you earned. Not sure on whether the formula varies by state, though.
DP, did you follow up on the leads people mentioned on twitter? I might have one more–asked S to check on it.

In the past 36 hours my s-i-l’s grandma passed away and my bff in high school lost his sister in a train vs car crash 3 blocks from the high school. I’m not sure I want to know what bad thing #3 is going to be…
