Life is teh suck today because (a.ka. the official B_tch & Moan thread)

Bad timing, to be sure, but outside of NYC, I don’t think you’ll find a larger concentration of chorale groups than around here.

I mean, it’s not like you’re trying to find honest lawyers…

When’s the National Gallery show?

Spent July 4th with the twin sis and brother-in-law. They just left for the night, and they’re moving to Prague at the end of the month. This is probably the last time I’ll see 'em before they go.

Gonna miss her.

October 24. This one’s a big deal for me. There’s nothing I wrote in it, but the piece we’re doing literally changed my life (well, my creative life anyway). I’ve been working on this project for about two or three years AND the composer, my idol, is coming for it!

Thankfully, I almost have all of the choir put together for it. Just need two more singers (once one of the sopranos confirms). I’m feeling rather Starbucky after this. As in, “oh, I’m good.”

Sad face: :frowning:

You are good! You know I’ll be there!

One of my ratties has a lump on his belly that appeared at some point between Thursday and yesterday (Sunday), bigger than a pea but smaller than a marble. He’s going in to the vet today, and I’m hoping that it’s just an abscess or something benign.

I got paranoid about similar tiny lumps on his brothers, but I’m pretty sure the one on his chubbiest brother was just swelling on a scratch since it was gone this morning after I cleaned him last night, and I think the one on his skinniest brother is just a ligament or something. I’ll bee keeping an eye on them, though.

Fingers crossed. They’re so little and their metabolism is so high, this stuff pops up so fast :frowning:

ETA: Good news! It’s just an abcess. A really, really gross abcess that I’ll be flushing and packing for at least the next two weeks, but that’s better than a tumor!

Well, this one’s a free concert, so you have no excuse.

Ok. Seriously. I’m going to have to insist that all plant life is removed from the planet, I need to go at least 1 day without sneezing a million times a day, and I need my eye makeup to stop running all the time! Waterproof’s good, but man, once it starts to flow, it’s like I’m Jeff hardy!

So you do swanton bombs offa ladders when your allergies get the better of you? Might want to go to the doctor for that =P

Whew - July has been busy. I went to the MIL’s for the 4th, had a 20 hour turnaround and went to a 4-day conference. While I was there, my dad ended up in the hospital where he got a temporary port, had hemo-dialysis, got a permanent port, got his permanent peritoneal dialysis port fixed, and then had 2 more sessions of hemo-dialysis. Came home to an allergy-stricken (and grumpy!) hubby, worked a Monday at work, and then got selected for jury duty and will now be sitting in on a federal court case for the rest of the week. And it’s pushing 100 degrees. Can we start July over?

I had to pass on the Shore Leave convention this year due to financial concerns.

My friend went, and ended up in the hotel bar watching the World Cup final and talking to the young woman sitting next to him. After a while it dawned on him that she was Katie Sackoff.

Louis Andriessen’s trip is going to cost us another couple of grand that we don’t have. I’ve mobilized my troops, as has my department chair. Not insurmountable. The sucky part is that, since this project has been consuming my life, I’d decided to put it aside this week to concentrate on other matters that can’t stay in the back burner for too long.

Yeah, that was fun while it lasted. Did I mention it’s consuming my life?

No frakkin way

And I didn’t say frak

Bad week for me.

Starting Sunday, I was told that I wasn’t the one selected for the promotion at work; My VCR died while taping the F1 race so I missed the ending and need a new VCR/DVD player; Went to dentist and my Periodontist said that I’m going to either need surgery or loose two teeth, they don’t know which yet; My iPod died this morning and I got a new one and it doesn’t do the podcasts right; and last but definitely not least, I have not heard from the woman that I had been dating, no phone call no text and no email. I don’t know if she’s been in an accident or if she’s mad at me and is ignoring me. Last time I spoke to her was two weeks ago when we were in NYC, and nothing since then.

Ugh! Don’t you wish life had a reset button sometimes? Buck up, AT, it’ll get better!

This has been the week of hell at work. Nothing I can go into detail about without violating FERPA, but ugh. It’s been hellish. No wonder the rest of my work has progressed exactly zero since last week…

Frakking Deutsche Bahn can’t get train cars with working AC!!! Had to stay 90 minutes in that heat til my shirt was completely soaked and I arrived my destination. Reminded me of Fry and Bender after Bender opened the Stream exhaust port, after they got to the brig of Zap Brannigan.
A few days ago some people fainted in the train since the AC wasn’t suited for the high outside temperature and failed. In the cabin it got up to 45 Grad Celsius (113 Fahrenheit).

I hope the weekend is treating you better AT!

My roommate of 5 years moved out today. He gets married next week. I was always the dirt poor one of us two, so he owned most of the furniture. I don’t really know my other two roommates as well, so I’m feeling kind of strange and lonely at home tonight.

I miss my roommate. I miss my big couch.
