Life is teh suck today because (a.ka. the official B_tch & Moan thread)

Figures…Chevy Malibu '00 here. The problem is that the coolant that GM uses (Dex-Cool) degrades the material that the gasket is made of. I’ve repaired mine twice now actually first time in '06. There was a class action lawsuit against the coolant mfg in '08…GM didn’t notify me about it. Coulda got some of my money back from the first repair. Bastages.

My oldest girl came home yesterday with what she thought was a sprained ankle after a pickup baseball game at her after school care. Well, The Mrs. took her to the doctor this morning and it turns out her ankle is broken. She’ll be in a boot for six weeks, just at the start of summer. Poor kid!

My school is capping travel reimbursements next year, which means I won’t get anywhere NEAR as much money to cover my commute as I have been the last two years which, when coupled with the fact that right now I’m only being contracted to teach two classes a term when I was promised three, might not make it worth it to continue there. If only I could find another job just like that, but they’re not exactly recruiting composers like mad these days.

(Although I trust my department chair, so I’m sure I’ll at least have my class assignments in the end.)

I know everybody compains about tech support, but since I worked in it, I have more of a right. That being said, the guy at Adobe blew me off in less then 10 minutes after giving no help at all. Since there was no “rate this” window, I have to say it here: FRAK THAT GUY!

wow so I sold my Wii on eBay this week, I have a 100 percent feedback

now I get a message from the buyer whining saying that while everything works he’s angry because the shipping was ‘way overpriced’ and how there’s a ‘digusting mark on the console’ that he can’t get off (BS!) and that he’s going to leave negative feedback against me now, and how it was poorly packed

first of all IF YOU DIDN’T LIKE THE PRICE OF THE SHIPPING WHY DID YOU BID ON IT!?!?

second of all I pride myself on taking care of all my electronics, I dare you to find a single electronic in my posession that has ‘disgusting marks’ on it

third I bleeping run all the shipping at my job, I know how to freaking pack stuff securely and well

gd sleeze balls, what this guy is whining about considering he got about 320 dollars with of stuff if he bought it retail for 152

I maybe slept two hours last night. Ugh!

My flight home to St. Louis has been delayed. I won’t get back in time for the freelance gig I had booked tomorrow, so I’m out $500, which was supposed to help me pay for the trip I just took.

At least I had a great time.

You should take pictures of how you packaged it before selling it imo

I imagine he did that for the ebay listing.

Not of the product, of how it was packaged.

well he left Nuetral feedback instead

and his comment was ‘Shipping is way overpriced’

could you have a lamer reason for feedback than that? you can clearly see the shipping price when you’re bidding

Aren’t these people aware that it’s not you who sets the shipping price but the post office/UPS/Fedex?

Honestly, I’ve never looked at feedback before buying on eBay. I know I should, but I look for the stars and move forward if I want the item.

Ugh. I was spaced out yesterday and drove through a red light on the way home. I’m pretty sure it was one of those intersections with the cameras. So I’m probably looking forward to a $100 ticket in the mail in the next few days.

Gah. My boss was the reason I loved my job. I realized yesterday that I don’t like him anymore. It was like lancing a boil: I blabbed to the g/f for about 2 hours about how fed up I am. And today I can barely look at him. He’s a jerk! Who cares if he’s smart and respected in our field? He’s a JERK!

So I guess it’s time to polish the old resume. :frowning:

Ruh-roh! What’d he do to change your opinion of him?

I realized that once he came to fully trust me, he stopped doing about 80% of his work and pushed it onto my desk.

It sucked to realize that he was only super engaged and hard working because he wasn’t entirely confident in my ability to handle it all yet. And it sucked even more to realize that my reward for earning his trust was to do my job plus most of his for 25% of his pay.

Meh.

Tell him you need an intern…

Felgecarb! I think you need to dump his (sorrybarb) and find yourself a new job (though not in that order).

So I get a call about an hour ago, as I’m sitting down to dinner, from the director of music at the National Gallery. The chorus master for their chorus doesn’t think the Andriessen piece is for them and is backing out of the project. Now I have to find a chorus (thankfully, it’s only 8 singers) on my own, which means rehearsing them as well, which I was REALLY hoping not to have to do because, well, I like to sleep every now and then (the schedule’s REALLY tight around this concert as it is). SO, I’ve spent the bulk of the last hour emailing and calling people I know might be interested.

I think it’s an easily solved problem, to be sure, but I just wish this sort of thing didn’t happen at 7 p.m. on the Friday before the friggin’ 4th of July. Ugh!
