We’re a day from the first rehearsal for a concert next weekend and we still have to find two performers to cover parts. I hate having to put concerts together around Christmas time. UGH!
I just found out that my aunt died from her daughter in law’s Facebook page. :(:(
I called my parents after that and they explained that, since I live so far away (I’m in Florida and the rest of the family is in Iowa/Nebraska), they decided to wait to let me know until they knew when the funeral was going to be. It makes a certain amount of sense, but this is a big downside to how technology has advanced.
This has been an extremely sucky week and it’s only Tuesday :mad::(:(:mad:
I determined that I wouldn’t be able to go to my aunt’s funeral based on work’s bereavement leave policy. I could have taken vacation time, but with the holidays coming up, I can’t really afford to.
Then today, I found out that Lockheed Martin lost the follow-on contract for the project I’ve been working on. I don’t know the timetable yet, but within the next 6 months or so, I need to find a new project to transfer to. And this comes just over a month after closing on my house, so I really hope I can find one here in Orlando.
I am sorry about your loss and how you found out.
I am also having money problems the kind that may make me sell my house to get a smaller place.

My brother in law had major surgery. The kind that keeps you in intensive care for a few days.

Fiance Yey! is away for a week, I can’t sleep, it’s sad and silly how much I miss him hugging me and being next to me at night. The bed feels FAR too big and cold without him
I accidentally stuck my hand into my ceiling fan this morning and cut my finger a bit. Its really time to look into getting a ceiling hugger fan.
I can’t wait for tomorrow night. Concert weeks are so long for me. I’ve been averaging maybe five hours’ sleep, on a good night, and feel like I’ve been living out of my car.
Well, gotta go off to dress rehearsal. Oy vey!

Meanwhile, I just found out a friend of mine is moving away. I’ve known him for a few months since he came to town and started working at my Starbucks, and we made fast friends. But school isn’t working out for his fiancee, so they’re heading back to Texas as soon as they get new leasers for their apartments.
Granted, I’m sure the weather is nicer there this time of year than in St. Louis. But he didn’t realize he hadn’t told me, and I found out by overhearing him talking about it with one of our coworkers.
Bummer.
The Mrs. Lost a job because her agency sent her resume two minutes behind another woman’s. Granted, a woman who had no job at all now has one, but it still stings

My drive home was delayed today by no less than four accidents blocking the road. I wish people would learn to drive in the rain. It’s not like it’s a freak occurrence.
As far as I know this was the first gig they’d thrown her way in a while. Things are still pretty lean out there. At least she has a job right now. She just hates it and wants out, though. And I have to admit, I was hoping she’d get it for the extra half hour of sleep that it would’ve granted me too. That would’ve been a nice bonus. Mostly, though, I’m disappointed for her.

got food poisoning pretty bad never eating at subway again!!! :mad:
Some Evil Crapbag tried to break into my house while I was at work today. Luckily they didn’t get past the double keyed deadbolt on my back door. But they broke a window out of the door and totally wrecked the door jam. It’s screwed shut now and the windows are cover (mostly) with plywood. New door will be installed tomorrow. Only good thing is it is going to be frakkin cold tomorrow and I get to work from home.
