…and of course there are programs that let you make ringtones from your music library without needing to go through iTunes if you have a jailbroken phone.
There’s a bunch of free ways to do proper ringtones. Here’s one. Audio Hijack can help get around any DRMed songs (the free version is sufficient for ringtones.)
Thanks. I use Audio Hijack all the time for stuff like that, and more. I just thought - for the moment - that Ringtone Generator was a nifty way of doing it.
HOWEVER…
Now they’ve gone and updated it, and made it even CLUNKIER than it was previously, removing the ability to “dial in” the exact point to a tenth of a second where you want your clip to start and stop. As a result, I cannot recommend this app, even for the curious.
One day, I hope, we’ll have an app that can easily and accurately take a clip from a song on your iPhone and turn it into a ringtone without having to sync or mess with it further.
Thanks to a great app called AppShopper I found out that Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II are on sale (from $8.99 to 3.99 this week) for the iPhone. They have better graphics then the originals and at this price are a steal. Just do it!
Still no jailbreak for iOS 4.1…well, maybe in the next weeks.
Just got the iPhone 4. WhooHoo !!
I love it.
So much frakkin fun.
Hive Mind, help!
Is there any way to disable multitasking on an iphone 4 (without jailbreaking it)?
All iOSs multitask. They just added the little interface in the new version. And no, you can’t disable it. But since it’d make no performance difference anyway, I’m not sure why you’d want to.
Re: Ringtones for iPhone: If you’re on a Mac and have iLife, you can create ringtones super easily (and free) with GarageBand. Just drag/drop, select the range, output.
And you can easily make ribgtones in Windows with iRinger.
Thanks Chuck! I wanted to disable multitasking on my dad’s phone because I thought it would impact performance (since it seems to on my older ipod), and he never closes any apps from the multitask bar, like, ever. But if it doesn’t, I guess it doesn’t matter, does it?
Yay for hive mind!
Any suggestions on cool SciFi apps?
Lol, the cylon bobblehead app from SyFy (both in classic and BSG flavors)
Thanks, have the Cylon Detector.
The IPhone is the bomb cause I van check GWC forum on it. Which is really good when your 11 year old daughter has a monopoly on the computer.
Not worth it. It takes a face and randomly 'shops it onto a BSG picture. I used it two or three times before getting bored with it.
Everybody needs to get Game Dev Story, easily the best game on the iphone
Cyclon bobble head app. most pointless, yet entertaining app yet. it also makes noises when you shake it
I almost pulled the trigger on it. Help push me over the edge. What do you like best about it?
