More parts arrived today. I only have 117 lots / 1471 individual parts left until I have everything I need. Still no 1 x 16 technics bricks 
Looked online again today and couldn’t find a complete set under $1,000. So far I’ve put about $300 (-$100 in lottery winnings!) into this & paid for most of the expensive parts.
Just so you get a sense of what I’m dealing with, look at my open orders as of right now…
The one on the very bottom is the one that’s holding me up. The second one up I got today but the seller hasn’t changed the status yet so It’s still on my screen of open orders.
This just keeps getting better all the time. Are you planning on putting together a stop-motion video during the process?
Are you kidding! lol. There’s already a bunch of those online and I’m frustrated enough trying to get this thing started. I’m just gonna take lots of construction pictures with the minifigs and work in my animations whenever possible. I still have some NBA all-star minifigs that may help out too.
Who knows, maybe a couple months after I finish I’ll cheat and do a stop-motion disassembly then run it in reverse!

No deliveries in the last two days
Today was a good delivery day. I got 4 packages! Still not the 1 x 16 bricks I need, but I cleared a bunch of stuff from my list. Now down to 111 lots and 1257 parts remaining. Plus I got my Chewbacca!

I really thought today would be the day I get to start building, but the parts I needed still have not come in. I got one shipment of ten bricks, that hardly seem worth taking a picture of. Very upsetting

Today I got a package from Germany with more parts. It had some nice orchid stamps on it. now down to 104 lots left and 1172 parts left. Still no technics 1 x 16.
