Actually I was gonna try to build St John’s Cathedral in downtown Cleveland. I’m using Lego’s digital designer to plan it out. It will be my first major free-form project if I get to build it.
Got the two section of the frame done and combined last night.
Then I built the landing gear, which strangely enough I never saw in the movies. Must be one of Lucas’ retcon’s
And then I got to start the back engine section. Still missing some parts for the three big engines, so they will go on later.
Then I decided just to put the bridge section on just to see what it would look like
I also put on the one bottom panel that I built earlier.
Check out the gun turrets!
Oh look, finally got the right levers, so the shield generators will look right
Then I slept for a few hours.
AND THEN this morning I built one of the top hull panels. This thing is held on by gravity alone right now as I ran out of magnet holders and probably won’t get them for a few days. Still looks cool tho…
Imagine this thing pulling up beside you!
Wow these impress me more and more with each picture, which is a feat as I was impressed just hearing you were going to do them!
I was mostly joking when I suggested it but DAMN. That’s badass.
That is so awesome. I want to be just like that.
Well, I had the time to finish my 3 foot 5 inch Star Destroyer today. Here are close ups of the finished engines…
Upper and lower hull sections on the starboard side.
Oh joy, 1 hull section left!
Engines, now with complete hull sections attached.
This is what the top looks like before attaching the bridge sections…
Now with lower bridge section attached…
Now with both bridge sections…
I’m going to take a break from large-scale legoing for a bit, but my next epic scale project is going to be either St Lawrence Church or St John’s Cathedral, both in Cleveland.
That thing is huge. You brake for no one!
I lied, I started ordering parts for this…
The title of this thread needs to be renamed to “I am going to build my very own space ships”. d:
