I am going to build my very own Millennium Falcon

Okay, so I got onr of the two frames built. They are two copies of exactly the same frame that sandwich on top of each other. Still waiting for parts on part 2 of the frame…

I also got a lot more of the bridge section done, but you can see I’m still missing some small parts here and there…

And then I built the blockade runner, but it too is missing 2 parts…

You are going to need a bigger house. Wow. Seriously. Wow.

I visited the new LEGO store that just opened by me. The manager said that if they can get big enough display cases they will display my Falcon & Star Destroyer!

Great! But, how would they still be yours?

Think of art in a gallery. The artist still owns the work.

I could accept that except Legos are still TM of the Lego company… A painter buys paint, oils, etc., but I do not think that flies for Legos or jigsaw puzzles for example. I’m not trying to diminish the work by comparing the creations to jigsaw puzzles. I’m just genuinely concern about what happens if he decides he wants them back, the Lego store changes owners, or whatnot.

The guy said all the stuff in there on display is community built. They just need to get big enough display cases to hold my stuff. I’m sure they have a contract & such that I’ll have to sign to protect me & them (if not, I’ll write one.) He said they would never put anything out without a display case because kids would take it apart. lol.

Well if you’re sure about the protection, then ok. Re-grats. (:

Kids aren’t the only one who would take it apart. d:
“Oh, I want that shield generator and dish!”

Trademark doesn’t confer ownership, it protects the brand. Since the trademark owner owns the store, their complaint would have to be with themselves.

Short answer, he’s fine.

You might be interested to know that there is at least one artist who works with jigsaw puzzle pieces.

Sorry for the fuss. I usually know better than to play armchair lawyer, but I was worried is all. Sorry again.

And, I would be interested to know that. Seems weird, but cool.

Edit: Funny how this thread derailment would have devolved into name calling and insults on almost any other forums. d: Gotta love the GWC community.

That’s cos we’re the friendliest people in SyFy!

Boo!

Sci-fi. We don’t need to rebrand ourselves!!

No need to apologize. I’m an armchair lawyer myself, but I do follow this aspect of law more closely than most laymen. It’s a problematic area because it has grown out of proportion to its original intent, so I can’t blame someone being cautious, but this would be an unlikely arena for some novel litigation.

I was gonna start building Lego wrestling arenas next… :frowning:

Holy crap dude! This is completely awesome!

How about a Lego Serenity next?

Kaylee wants you to.

I have way too much time & money invested in my Glee Legos, but maybe when they go on break for the season… hmmm…

This is a world where people try to legally claim the moon and sun. Nothing is unlikely. d:

Lol! If you want.
