Hey NYC Crüe - Fall meet-up anyone????

So, any specific day set yet? At the moment I’m looking at the last full week of October because that hasn’t been scheduled at work yet. The week before might be doable, buy I really have to know before Saturday Morning on a date to get it scheduled.

Do you guys/gals have a date set yet? I’ll be there, just need some notice.

Unless anyone objects I am thinking that Thursday, Oct 29 is the best option for me. Now we just need to figure out time and location. If not let us know, but we need to figure it out soon for those who are traveling in.

I know I will be in the city most of the day and want to go to Central park to see the leaves.

So those who live/work in the city - lunchtime or after work??? Any ideas on places - you guys know the city better then me (and I think you all know where each other works).

Let’s lock the 29th and begin our plans for world domination. Perhaps we should all pick up a piece of NYC Crüe swag?

Sounds good to me. I think I am going to get the long sleev NY crew shirt. At least I guess I can claim myself as a member of that group, even if I don’t live in the city (I think I have done more with you guys then the Philly Crue these days).

Like I said I am up for any time/place - I have the whole day off. I am depending on those that live there to pick a place to meet…

Right-O on the 29th. I’ll touch base with my boss and make sure I can get that day off. Any time that day will be fine, Central park and/or Museum of Natural History would be great day trips.

Just wanted to make an updated suggestion, With the current focus on Cosmos, might I suggest a trip to the Museum of Natual History and the Hayden planetarium, and if the weather is nice, a walk through the park and lunch.

OK, now that Big Apple Comic Con has come and gone we really need to make some plans for this meet-up. I mean we are only about 11 days away.

We need to figure out when and where we are meeting.

I am thinking of coming up earlier in the day and hanging out and doing a little sightseeing or going to a museum. But a lot of that depends on if we are all meeting at lunch time or after lunch (or both for that matter).

I can only do lunch and it would have to be close to me job. I’m @ 8th and 57th Street.

Rae:
I’m coming in as early as I can. Probably 9-ish or so. So I’ll be around too, and will have my sight-seeing mojo on. I say we picket Talos’ workplace with posters of him in bunny ears.

So far, so good. I’m still in. Mostly for lunch, but if you guys formalize some of what you will be doing pre and post lunch I may be able to swing one part or the other.

So far we have confirmed:
ATGreat
Rae
Solai
'Talos
Topgun

need to confirm
Stevie
Yorick

You realize that whether you actually eat it or not, I’m getting a photo of you with a:

Cheezeburger

I think you may be confusing me with the slightly less handsome and very more French GWCer Yorick who could crush both of us simply by flexing his bicep.

We can call into the GWC line and all say, “Cheeeburger” Audra will lose it.

Oh, at some point long ago somebody wanted you to say it too, after first hearing your dulcet tones.

Yes, I saw Yorick do it at the last NYC meetup. A karaoke singer was attempting " I Will Always Love You." Without a word, Yorick walked to the stage and crushed the evil-doer using one-third of his left bicep. Then he sat back down. There was applause.

So is that 9ish in the city or getting on the train at 9ish? Either way I can figure out how to get there. If I wait a little longer it is a tiny bit cheaper, but I am good either way.

Now we need to figure out where to meet-up…

Last I heard StevieSpin was in (at least he was as of last Saturday when I last saw him).

So looking at a map, 'Talos works near a corner of Central park, and up 8th avenue is the American Museum of Natural History.

So my suggestion is:
The morning ‘Tourist Group’ meet at Penn or Grand Central ~9AM.
We wander around NYC, heading toward 8th & 57th, maybe wander around the southern end of Central Park.

We meet up for an early lunch with the ‘Can’t Get Out of Work Group’ near 8th and 57th.
('Talos, any suggestions on a good place to eat?)

After lunch, the Tourist Group and the ‘Calling in Sick Due to a Bad Lunch (Nudge, Nudge)’ group can then take a stroll along Central Park to the Museum of Natural History.

Survivors will then make their way back to correct train stations and home.

At the moment this does seem like an ambitious agenda. Any other suggestions to add to the trip?

Not really. There is a Cafe in house where I usually eat. But there are plenty of places to eat in the area. Last time Solai found a cafe/deli on Broadway and 60th, I think.

Sounds good.
