Hey NYC Crüe - Fall meet-up anyone????

OK, so StevieSpin and I were talking about how I want to get up there and meet the members (OK I think it is just one) of the NYC that I haven’t had a chance to meet, and how I want to see the leaves in Central Park (yes we have trees here that change - I don’t live that far away, but still), and I have some vacation time I have to take or I lose it…

So I figured it is never too early to start planning a NYC meet-up, in say October?

As of right now I may be in Canada the first week of Oct for work, but other then that I am pretty free. I should know soon when I will be going to Canada and can make more of a commitment.

Also for those interested there is also a big Convention coming up with LOTS of cool guests - Oct 16-18 - http://www.wizardworld.com/home-apple.html I am planning on coming up on Saturday at the very least, maybe take Friday off and come up too. I’ll start another thread for it (there are like 6 or 7 BSG guests, not to mention Terminator, X-Men, Warehouse 13)

So lets start trying to plan something, at least lunch one day.

I’d come to town for a day for the con, definitely. Dunno what day is the best but yeah I’m down

I’m in for a meetup, but need to keep it to weekdays. So if people are into it I can meet for lunch somewhere prior to convention weekend!

That was kinda the plan. I have some vacation I need to take, and figured why not take a day and visit the city, and my friends there. I am leaving it up to you guys to tell me when - since you all are there and it is just me from far away.

I am going to the con too, but that is for a separate discussion.

I can do it for almost any day (Although weekends are a little touchy), but I need at least three weeks warning so that it can be scheduled at work. So at the moment we are talking about mid-October for me. So if there is going to be a meetup for the convention, I have to know before next Thursday.

I’m in for Saturday. Whenever i buy the weekend passes i always burn out after one day anyway lol. Unless they have some good content sunday. woot woot.

Don’t worry - it is a fairly new addition to the GWC story.

It is big block letter GWC with what looks like the NY skyline in it - it is pretty cool.

Granted you are blond, but gullible (at least in this instance) :stuck_out_tongue:

OK - so I finally have some firm details on my trip. I am going to be in Canada the week of Canadian Thanksgiving, which for those who may not know that is the week of Oct 12. I will not be home until late Friday, which means no con for me on Friday, but I will be up on Saturday at least.

So that leaves the weeks of Sept 28 and Oct 5 for trying to fit a meet-up in before the Con…I would prefer the first week in Oct or late Oct. My boss is in town the week of Sept 28, so I won’t really be able to take the day off that week.

So ideas anyone??

Like I said, I need a good bit of lead time to get a day off, so if not the Con, after would be better for me. The rest of September is already scheduled, so a day off on a meet up would be by pure luck.

i’d love to meet up with you guys! Whether it be the con or otherwise. the only date i won’t be able to meet up is October 17th. But if you guys are planning a pre-con meetup, i’m down for that.

OK - now that we are getting closer to October, I figure we should start to try and nail down a date.

I am relatively flexible, just need enough time to take a day off. But I know others need to plan days in the city around work schedules.

So how does sometime the week of Oct 26th sound? Solai? Yorrick? 'Talos? ATGreat? Tanu? StevieSpin? Anybody else who wants to join us? What day works best for everyone?

I figure the trees will be changed mostly by then, and it will be after the con. It also gives those who need to plan some time to do so.

I can make that timing work. Week before my birthday, I’ll be in a festive mood. 'talos and I will drink beers while Yorick and Stevie are good and drink water. Good times. :smiley:

You mean I might actually finally meet you? I think you are the only one of the crew I haven’t met (and the rest I have met on multiple occasions, and in some cases multiple states :p)

OK - looking at the calendar at work - the only day that is bad for me that week is Tuesday. Other then that I am free any other day.

I’m good any day that week at the moment, but I need to know soon so that I can schedule it at work. If it’s going to be a weekend, I have to know VERY soon!

Well I took off that Thursday and Friday to make a long weekend, soooo how does Thursday sound to everyone? And what time of the day would you all prefer - lunch, happy hour, afternoon?

Or I can change my vacation days - my work is really flexible about that sort of thing.

Only Tuesday is an issue as I am committed to a meeting every Tuesday AND I am giving blood that day.
