Henry V: Non-streaming ET/PT/CT/ZT/MT Frak Party

On another thread, the idea has been kicked around about doing a Watch-Along-Together Frak Party of the Movie “Henry V”.
I rented the Henry V DVD from Netflix this week, and I’m looking forward to watching it for the first time on the big screen TV I got this year (I’ve seen it numerous times before in the movie theatre, etc.).

Anyway, seems like there’s only a couple of us who have the movie in hand.
And while it would be great to watch it tonight (tonight being a non-BSG night), I’m wondering first, if there’s a big interest in doing it—and perhaps saving it for a time when those who wanted to join in can get their hands on it from the local video store, or whatever. I know we’ve got a lot of Shakespeare fans here on GWC.

And if you haven’t seen the movie, you really should. Everytime I watch the movie I get so fired up and it really makes me want to go out and kill French people (I kid. I kid. That’s a joke!!, so sue me (that’s also a joke, don’t actually sue me.))

This is the 1989 film with Kenneth Branagh, right? If so, count me in. I was wondering if we was gonna do some kinda Frak party.

Yup, that’s the one. I take it that you have the movie?

I always wondered want it would be like if Kenneth Branagh were cast as the Captain of the Enterprise in some version of Trek. He’s got a Shatner like ego (in a good way), so I think he could carry it.

I’d love to see Branagh play a Romulan commander pit against Kirk.

Maybe someday we’ll have a retcon of Henry V where the French win the Battle of Agincourt

I’m out, but I’m definitely down for a rewatch later. Hell, in the off-season, I’d be down for a Shakespeare rewatch club.

If we had heard back from several people that wanted to do it another time, I would have said let’s put it off. But since we didn’t, we might as well do it tonight. We can always do a re-watch again if interest is there.

So tonight I’m thinking maybe 11 pm? Let’s see if that’s too early for Lady D.
I don’t mind staring at midnight if that’s better for her.
