Chris Evans was Johnny Storm/Human Torch in the Fantastic 4 movies.

Edit: And if I’d listened long enough I would have heard that they finally figured it out…DOH!

Havent had a chance to listen to the podacst yet, but when you say “Blade Runner sequel”, are you refering to the comment Steven Lisberger made in this interview about Tron?

He said later in another article that he was talking about “Purefold” (an internet series based in the same world as Blade Runner) and was not aware that project had been abandoned.
Im still holding out hope Ridley will return to Blade Runner after he makes the Alien prequel.

Dr. Theopolis was Twiki’s bling.

No doubt, Erin Gray was hot as Wilma Deering. But Pamela Hensley as Princess Ardala walked around in a bikini most of the time.

“Did anyone know that Shatner and Nimoy’s birthday was so close together?”

raises hand

William Shatner is 79.

Inner Light is one of my favorite TNG episodes. I think that was Patrick Stewart’s best performance in the whole series. And yeah, I cry every time I watch it too.

Oh yeah, I totally had the hots for Col. Wilma Deering.
I’ll be in my bunk, yes indeed.

It is my absolute favorite. So much heart in that story, and wonderful acting by Stewart and the guest stars. I’m still haunted by that flute.

never thought about the Flava Flav reference—On the damn floor laughing now. Yeeeeeahhhhhh Boooooyyyyy"

yes…yesssssss…

RE: Campatin America - I’m not quite as worried about the4 bad guy (Red Skull can be associated with any terrorist org pretty easily I would think)—but the costume…yeah…that could be a problem

Feeling the same way about the Thor flick they are working on.

Bummer about At the Movies. The newest hosts are actaully getting pretty good…

It’s gonna be in World War II man, the best bad guys are the bad guys.

Yeah, I’ve heard a fair amount of whining about this casting already (although I’ve come to expect this) just because his role in the Fantastic 4 movies. And I’ll admit I was less than impressed with Fantastic 4, but I totally agree that Chris Evans certainly looks the part, very all-American.

But, I also wanted to add that for those of you looking to check out Chris Evans’ acting ability in another amazing sci-fi movie, then do check out “Sunshine” (2007).

yeah - that’s the one. Didn’t hear about the other article…but them saying “Blade Runner” a few times that specifically - who knows…

yeah–Red Skull (supposedly they are looking at Huge Weaving…which would be OSSIMsauce), baron Zemo, etc

I second that. I thot we had a frak party for that film. Imma have to schedule one.

ETA: Sunshine Frak Party 4/4 @ 8PM ET

The flute…still gets to me…

Lovin’ this Picard TNG arc idea. Those are some of my fav episodes.
Inner Light is such a moving, intense tale.

As many of you may know, there was going to be a Star Trek series in late 70s called Star Trek II (I think?), staring Shatner and everyone (except Nimoy).
The sets, props, uniforms and everything were developed for the series, but the series didn’t get made (for a variety of reasons).
All that stuff was used to make the movie that became “Star Trek: The Motion Picture”.

Interestling, there were a sigificant list of story ideas development for this Star-Trek-Series-That-Never-Was.
And many of those story ideas eventually got used in Star Trek Next Generation.

These include the TNG episodes:

The Child (in the orginal story idea Lt. IIia (bald chick from ST:TMP) gets pregant, but in TNG it happens to Troi.)

Devil’s Due (The Audra…um I mean Ardra episode )

and yes,

The Innner Light (the original story idea had Kirk living decades of someone’s life in 30 minutes, and in TNG the idea was used for Picard.)

I was going to paste here the entries from Memory Alpha describing those story ideas that were recycled for TNG, but some weird computer glitch is preventing me from accessing the Memory Alpha Wiki.

Talos, maybe you can help out with that? I know you know exactly what I’m talking about with this recycled story concepts.

I remember hearing abotu this—Xon (Full Vulcan who would replace Spock ) was basically Data. Decker from TMP would be Riker.

Didn’t knwo abotu eth Inner Light ep tho. Love the Shat…but don’t think the Shat could have carried the ep with the gravitas that Stewart did.

Yeah, I have to agree with you. Stewart knocked that out of the park, so well suited to his acting abilities.

Shat did a not quite the same thing, but similar in The Paradise Syndrome where Kirk’s memory is wiped and he believes he is lan Native American-like God and then lives that life for a while. (Shat had no problem playing a god  )

I am Kirok! I am KIROK!!

and as usually…wife was the HOTNESS
