i really liked this young River. she is so adorable.
not that the one from the movie isn’t. the one from the movie really an act, she sounds almost exactly like how Summer plays River.

It’s cool. We’re not on eggshells so much. (:
Welcome aboard, John.
Everyone is allowed one dissenting viewpoint before being assigned for reeducation.
What good is the name John if your not going to use it to preach?
We all know that guns are for those weaklings that can’t take a punch and pro-choice is for those without enough faith to be told what to do.
I got them distracted, make a run for it brother!
Make sure Chuck sees Watchmen someday soon. ^^
Planet of the Apes is awesome havent watched it in Years, but I too watched this as a kid and the ending surprised me which made the movie for me as a Kid…
but now when I re watched this at the end all I could think of is the end of SpaceBalls lol…
Regarding Charlton Heston’s political views he was actually quite the advocate of civil rights. Below is the introduction of his Wikipedia entry:
Charlton Heston (October 4, 1923 – April 5, 2008)[1][2] was an American actor of film, theatre and television.[3]
Heston is known for having played heroic roles, such as Moses in The Ten Commandments, Colonel George Taylor in Planet of the Apes, Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar in El Cid, and Judah Ben-Hur in Ben-Hur, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor. In the 1950s and 1960s he was one of a handful of Hollywood actors to speak openly against racism and was an active supporter of the Civil Rights Movement. Initially a moderate Democrat, he later supported conservative politics and was president of the National Rifle Association from 1998 to 2003.
So I could see him being quite in line with the message of this movie (at least at that time).
Also the caste system of the apes does attempts to replicate the actual great ape species. The red haired Dr. Zaius represented an orangutan, while Cornelius and Zira represented chimps, and many of the warriors were made up of gorillas. This is somewhat ironic because chimpanzees are actually much more violent than gorilla’s typically are.
Its been a while since I’ve seen the original planet of the apes. I must have blinked out the first fifteen minutes of the film because I don’t remember Heston’s character being such a jerk. I also can’t believe all those lines coming from the young ape and Heston, “Don’t trust anyone over 30!” Great commentary in the podcast as usual. I was real stoked you guys liked my fantasy scifi solution! I’ll try to keep them coming.
oh my, I didn’t elaborate… my bad… I meant to say, a young Heston was conned into saying something about gun control in the original Planet of the Apes movie… it’s there somewhere…
I’m loving that you like Michael Moore… he blew my mind the first time I watched it… political satire and any sort of criticism is practically taboo over here…
ok, I feel pretty dumb saying this, but the old lady story flew over my head … am i missing something? :o
douple posting - pls ignore this message.

I’d been confusing Sy Snootle with Jabba the Hutt’s slave dancer. So, based on that confusion, I was going to say, “Sy Snootle and Michelle Pfeiffer? I’ll be in my bunk…”
But now that I double-checked and realized who Sy Snootle is, having had the thought of “Sy Snootle and Michelle Pfeiffer,” I’m not gonna be in my bunk any time soon.
You’re thinking of Oola, a green Twi’lek. (This, incidentally brings back the old green vs. blue discussion as Twi’leks exist in both varieties.)
Ahhh, yes. Even though I generally prefer blue, there’s something about a green girl, you know?
And, to be fair, Sy Snootles looks like she’s at least 200. She was probably a looker back in the day.
so i guess Pa’lowick’s lips are not affected by gravity as they get older.
While she’s not my type, I won’t write her off as unnattractive just 'cuz she’s not my species. She just looks a little ragged. If that kind of thing is your bag, hey, Pa’lowicks need love too.
I think I know, but I’m not going to open my mouth and remove all doubt. I’m quoting you in hopes someone who does will respond.
The Sy Snootles talk is disturbing however… I will say of all the “enhancements” made in the Special Editions, Sy Snootles did look better afterwards.
Another great podcast guys. Regarding the length, I don’t mind the longer episodes, in fact I like it even better. Remember, just because you record it all at once (sometimes), doesn’t mean people listen all at once. In fact I would bet that most people break it up into 2 or 3 sessions. In other words, feel free to keep going until you feel like you’ve said everything you need to say, because we always have the “stop” button. Just my 2 cents.
Twi’leks are sorta like Skittles, they come in a rainbow of colors.
i don’t mind it when it’s longer either…
…thats what she said!
iykwim…
