Oh, wait, wait. I got this one. Using your cute dimples to get your way?
I agree, with ATGreat and Glimfeather. At this point, before the destruction of the 12 colonies, Caprica 6, is completely focussed on completing her mission.
The seduction of Baltar, the “kindness” to Baltar’s father are strategies for victory. Even after Caprica 6 falls in love with Baltar, she does not waver from her mission, not even to save Baltar. (Even if C6 thought she was saving Balter’s life by covering him from the blast…saving him for what, a slow death by radiation?)
C6 completely believed that humans had forfeited their right to exist. The children had come home to exact an accounting, and humanity, as flawed as it is, had been judged harshly.
Pike, you get me man. My life is full of typos.

We haven’t had such quodlibets in quite some time around here
My take on Caprica 6 and the baby’s neck is a little different. I thought she was genuinely curious about the strength of the neck and was pressing on it to see how strong it was when it snapped to her surprise.
To me it looked like her face genuinely registered an “Oops.” She also looked a little distraught as she hurried away from the stroller in the crowd like she just made a mistake.
I think there would be a satisfied/content look on her face if she had just completed a “mercy” killing. Just like there was a content look on her face when she arranged for Baltar’s father to live in a new home.
What I find amazes me, is that at the start of it all, in the mini-series, I was so outraged at the slaughter of the 12 Colonies and most of humanity.
The Centurions were deadly machines that could not be reasoned with, and therefore, had to be destroyed in entirety.
The humanoid Cylons were malevolent creatures who were relentlessly seeking the utter annihilation of humanity. There was only justification in trying to annihilate them right back.
(I could feel as blood-thirsty as the next one.)
And now, at the end of the line, I have somehow made peace with the idea that Cylons are “persons”, with a right to survive. And that the two peoples, humans and cylons, can only survive by blending together.
All I can say is, what a process it has been. You gotta love it!!
Does anyone know whre I can find the image Audra mentioned of the Last Supper with Ellen?
Yes, that was my take on it exacTly.
quodlibet
Ooh! Ooh! I got the answer!
“Noun:
1: a philosophical or theological point proposed for disputation ; also : a disputation on such a point.”
Do I get a piece of pah?
(Also, it can mean–“2: a whimsical combination of familiar melodies or texts.” I think we get a lot of that around here, too.)
Glim, do I sense another AWAD fan?
Last Fraken BSG Special Podcast???
In between reading all the awesomeness that ends up on the forums here, I do occasionally check other worthy sites like the New York Times. I couldn’t help but be freaked out by the picture I saw of the Austrian man who confessed to incest and torture recently.
I was freaked out (in addition for all the obvious reasons) because he tends to look too much like our friend Cavil, no?
I feel supremely unworthy to contribute this week. My psyche is just so overwhelmed with really strong feelings about the show ending and what may be in store for characters I’ve grown to care so much about. Totally weird that you can get emotionally attached to fictional things like this. I did have one passing thought about Lee’s pigeon though. Has anyone thought this might be connected to the gull image that Baltar’s followers have adopted? This is a stretch, but I probably wouldn’t have considered it were it not for the big showdown scene between the two in the last episode.
Makes as much sense as any of the other explanations I’ve heard.
Hey, why not?
I think at this point, I’m beyond surprise at almost any explanation, for anything.
HAHAHA!! “Ooops…mai bad…”
I remember someone here on the forum had it in her signature, but I can’t find it yet either.
I think I found it:
(A Google Image Search turned up a link to these very forums. The image was in the search results frame at the top of the page, but nowhere on the page itself. Clicking on the image led me to a flickr account owned by one “Clione”. Ring a bell, anyone?)
I saw it in someone’s siggy on the skiffy forum. I’ll have to look.
ETA: Nevermind Stroogie found it. Love your sig, Stroog.
Thank you, thank you.
[takes a bow, watches his post count go up]
Hey Stroog, how’s the weather in St. Louis?
My contribution to the Glimfeather post count…
