Your song at the beginning of the podcast was fantastic! It made me grin from ear to ear. And your voice is just beautiful! Thank you so much for that special treat!
Anders has an outstanding tolerance for pain and annoyance…which explains why he loves Starbuck.
What if – just theoretically – they were fueled by Ellen’s Wrath?
Great call, by the way. Cheers!
ROTFLOL! So true, so true…
The intro was fantastic, I’ve been singing Danny Boy in my head now. I almost forgot just how much I love that song. David’s talking of singing also reminds me of how much I enjoyed choir back in high school.
I am also debating taking up a collection to get Sean & Audra Big Wheels! They were the ossim!
Intro was Priceless! Who did that?
on the topic of big wheels, does anyone remeber the black Knight Rider Bigwheel??? it was jet black with a red “oh crap” handle and a red reflective strip for the leds on the front of “kit”… def. my fav. biigwheel of all time
DavidfromMontreal did the intro. Fantastic singing and lyrics.
Just got finished with the podcast, great call ins.
Oh, of course. I saw his Gaeta Opera post, but didn’t make the connection to the intro.
David, awesome intro. I was humming the song the rest of the day.
re: book covers. I’m with Audra (again! lol), I never found “sexy guys” on the cover of books I read. Even if there were guys who were supposed to be sexy, they were always eclipsed by whatever sexy woman they were supposed to be with. Equal opportunity objectification!
- Actually, I prefer non-sexy book covers. But that’s just me.
And full disclosure: the only romance novel I’ve ever read was for my graduate feminist theory class. It was terrible (the novel, the class was awesome) and I don’t think I’ll ever read one again.
I’m not saying anything.
Assuming that the Final Five are in a ship that is capable of achieving very close to the speed of light travel, that is 0.9999999951719537 of the speed of light ( 186282.396 miles per second), it would take them 1.9499 years to travel to the colonies in their time and meanwhile, 2000 years would elapse in the colonies.
So it is possible that the Final Five were on their ship for a relatively short period of time even though 2000 years had passed on the colonies. However, one must take into account that even slightly less speed causes very large increases in time passed for the Final Five.
Accelerating at a rate that would replicate gravity on earth, it would take just under a year to reach the speed of light. Then by turning the ship around an decellerating at the speed of gravity would take a little under a year to slow down to normal speeds. So if the colonies were 2000 light years away, it would take 2 years plus the 1.9499 years to travel there. So in all it would take nearly 4 years to travel to the colonies while 2000 years passed at the colonies.
That is a lot of solitare and charades, but short enough that the people involved wouldn’t age very noticably.
