Great 'cast as usual guys.
I liked the Dirk bit a lot.
I also really liked the part Sean talked about his teen years and the saintlyness of his mother. Sean, that was really cool.

Seriously guys, seriously?
You rag on Adama for forcing the cylon tech on the fleet resulting in the mutiny, but then when he doesnt want cylon tech you rag on him again?
Can Adama do anything right for you anymore
Oh, and in the OS, the holocaust happened at the start of the show.
Sorry Chuck
To clear up the 2,000 year journey confusion- they blew by it pretty fast in the show. Basically, the theory is that the closer you get to the speed of light, the less time passes for you. If you could travel 99.9% the speed of light, you could cross the known universe (roughly 13 billion light years) while experiencing only 53 years. So likely the trip was very quick for them even if they were in the 80-90% range.
Interesting fact- A solid object traveling at just under light speed would appear to be glowing blue in the front and red in the back.
my new bumper sticker
Always look forward to the GWC podcasts. Great work as always Chuck, Audra, & Sean.
I disagree. He was FORCING the fleet to let them put cylon tech on the ships becasue they needed it but when his ship needs it he changes his mind and says no.
He’s fine telling people what to do but when It comes to someone telling him what he has to do he fights back…
I think after rattling off a string of physics, I’m entitled to a dumb question- what I just talked about is what that sticker is referring to, right?
Because I saw that on Carl Sagan’s Cosmos, and astronomy and the physics related to it is the fastest changing field of science, I think. I was half expecting to find out that that theory about the red and blue has been revised.
I think FTL is universal and that’s why he didn’t have a problem with it- he didn’t object until the Chief told him how weird the Cylon repair resin was.
The look on his face made me think that he was going to reject it outright no matter what…
Cavil’s real name is actually Dick.
Hi guys, long time listener first time poster. For what it is worth here is my theory. Cylons and humans are the same thing at different evolutionary ‘cycles’. Essentially it goes like this. Humans develop AI (cylons), AI conquer humans, AI develop self reproduction capability (give birth) and essentially become ‘human’, over time they develop AI and the cycle continues. ‘It has happened before and it will happen again’
I’m not all the way through, but so far this podcast seems a bit scattershot. You seem to get hung up on a few things for too long.
Maybe you should let your ideas settle and do the podcast the next day.
Just a few thought,
Take care
EDIT: Has no one read Ender’s Game, it explains the effects of relativistic effects of near-lightspeed travel pretty well.
So, if they came back the colonies and ended the war by offering to help the cylons develop “skin jobs”, then how could Col. Tigh have fought in the war with Adama?
If they fought together that’s a REAL problem. I thought that they met shortly after the war, but Tigh remembered fighting in it.
He did remeber fighting in it but not with Bill. Seeing as how Bill’s first mission in the war was at the END of the war I think they met afterward…
Yup, they met while they were on merchant ships. I wonder if they co-opted the memories of some other soldier who died during the war for Tigh’s experiences…
It might be possible that the Admiral is just trying to slow things down a little. The whole idea of cylon tech just caused an attempted mutiny on board and an attempted cue of the government. This also could be the reason for the all human work crew, so it would not give the impression on the cylon comming on board and taking over.
I do not know it that was the reasoning but it does happen in “real” life.
Are you sure that is not his title or nick name?
I just had what maybe a crazy idea (let me know what you all think).
Anders was talking about something was about to happen and referenced angles (or something like that) as he was being taken to surgery. In past seasons Ron Moore in his podcasts has talked about how he liked the “ships of lights” ark in the original BSG. Are we about to see their take on the “Ships of Lights”??? Could they be the lords of Cobal???
