Would Misfits of Science be an acceptable topic?
Certainly. I always liked Basehart, because he looked and acted like he had a couple of stiff highballs before he took Seaview on another mission.
I should pay attention to these threads more often.
Great laughs at all these posts (in a good enjoyment way to make myself clear)
I just gotta say that the hate on Roslin and Adama and the claims of them not caring is a bit annoying and I kinda tune out on those parts. Cept when Audra chimes in, cause Audra is the coolest.
I have come to accept that pretty much anything here is an acceptable topic.
Welcome RedEye to the Forum. Pants are optional. Punch and paaah will be served shortly. After reading this thread I can see you are already inculcated in the thoughts and patterns of GWC.
I think the one point that has been overlooked is that the crüe makes the podcast immediately after the episode…late at night, in a room with no computers. The fact that they flubbed the Kell(e)y thing is not a big deal, but I hear what you are saying: They are a Galactica podcast, they should be steeped in the lore of the show. I have come to think of Chuck, Sean and Audra as my BSG friends who enjoy the show but are not insane fans. They enjoy the show, but more importantly they enjoy talking about the show and what the show represents. The fact that they mixed up Kell(e)y isn’t a black mark on their record, it is a natural oversight regarding a character that hasn’t been around in over two years including breaks, writer’s strike, etc.
No stress, no worries. It is all good. You are right to hold them to a high standard, I certainly do.
Welcome again.
I think it was Sean that said it best, where he agrees that they probably deserve some R and R, but it’s just not the time right now. The leaders of humanity must be relentless until their job is done or they are no longer capable of leading, at which point they must step down. People have given up their freedom for survival, and the least their leaders can do for them is do everything they can to give them that freedom. That is the burden of leading.
Yes, I’m hoping we get some good mileage from that.
And once at sea, Adm.Nelson (Basehart) would light up a smoke and his hand would shake - just a bit. Now that’s not something you see much of any more. Then again he was protecting our country from communists (and giant squid and escaped Nazis - beat that Bill Adama).
Hi guys. I really enjoyed the podcast this week. Good discussion. I still love Roslin. And I still love you guys! The interview with Kate Vernon was great!
Ladies and Gentlemen (and GalaxyRanger) Elvis has entered the building.
Welcome aboard.
Yeah. Did you also catch the “again” bit?
That’s putting it mildly. In the interview, Kate Vernion said that all Ellen wanted was “to get her man back” and that she didn’t like having to share him with Adama and the Galactica. If that was then, how do you think she’ll like having to share him with Adama, the ship, a “younger model”, and a kid that’s not hers?
First, thanks for the greetings from La Resistance.
Second, what’s the policy on kilts?
That’s important to remember. However, I’ll continue to call it as I see it. Of course, with a bit more understanding factored into the equation.
After careful consideration: Yeah, it’s not that big of a deal.
I only lament the loss of some good conversation about the sweet bit of business the writers gave a minor character on the way out of the series.
As an insane fan, I’ll still be around to help fill in the gaps where applicable.
IYKWIM (yes, we miss GalaxyRanger)
I’d still listen if they turned it into a Tellie Tubbie podcast !!
What, have I totally lost it?
Welcome RedEye.
Welcome to the Forum elvislives.
Holy Crap - we’ve got exciting times ahead.
I wonder if Saul’s first loyalty will be to Ellen.
Elvis as final cylon would have been nice… I would have liked to hear his version of All Along the Watchtower.
Welcome to the Forum DavidfromMontreal.
Good quotes.
I am afraid that you may have. Let’s try this. What if they turned it into a Barney podcast? That’s a clear line in the sanity sand. (And what’s with those hooded eyes on that purple absurdity anyways? Who would allow their child hang around him? “I love you. You love me” Hmmm.)
You know, I was in an opera with Alessandro Juliani about 15 years ago at my university. I was studying opera singing, and he was studying theatre at McGill U. We did Benjamin Britten’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and he played Puck – that rarity in opera, a speaking role. When I first watched the miniseries, I said “Holy crap, it’s A.J.!” (That’s what he liked to be called.) Seeing him on the show always brought back fond memories, and I’m going to miss him… the actor, more than the character, given how Gaeta turned out.
BTW, I played Snout the Tinker, one of the mechanicals/rustics who plays the Wall in the play-within-the-play (or operetta-within-the-opera in this case). My vocal coach said it was the most realistic portrayal of an inanimate object he’d ever seen on stage…
