I’m glad I got that right, at least! I felt terrible for not being able to speak much to LK’s question about The Wasteland.
Hot Dog, Hot Dog, Hot Dog…you naughty little colonial.
As if the rash didn’t teach you the first time…now you have a kid AND a pissed off Tyrol to worry about.
Maybe the fleet should have focussed on ambrosia production AND condom production in equal parts. Or maybe Roslin had them banned to boost the population. Or maybe she pushed pins through the plastic envelopes!

Don’t sweat it, I’m a literary studies person too and (hush hush) I’ve never read anything by T.S. Eliot. Even in high school.
This is only tangentially related to the podcast, but…
as a Libra (though I don’t really hold to astrology at all), I was happy to see the Libran delegate’s perspective talk about neglected colonies, Aerilon gets more attention!
how did you escape? one quarter I read The Wasteland for 3 different courses
I’m a big fan of GWC, but I may have to stop listening. I simply don’t have 2 1/2 hours a week to catch up on your podcast. Last week I had to cut it off half-way through. It’s your show and your sweat equity and the fun you have doing is obvious. I look forward to it each week. But I’m literally running out of time. Have you considered shorter podcasts? Suggestion: breaking them into two separate 'casts with the first one focusing on the core of the current week’s show.
Sorry to sound like a downer here. What do others think?
I suspect the 2.5 hour cast is going to be atypical.
I’m not terribly concerned, since I listen as I do other things, but I can understand people finding that to be too much. There’s another podcast (name escapses me at the moment) that does three hour casts, and I find that to be too long.
Welcome Chair Spread!
Now meet me behind the school so I can whip you with a wet noodle!
I think you might be right Pike, as there was so much excitement preceding season 4.5. I will love the show no matter what the length is, but I can understand where you are coming from ChairSpread. I guess I just love the tangents and seeing where that takes the three
Narrative, my dear Lady D, narrative is key.
I read Austen twice (no complaints from me here!) and various works by various Brontes for multiple classes, but otherwise, no repeats that I remember.
That said, my knowledge of US literature really is quite shameful, and it’s something that I intend to remedy once this whole exams for my PhD ordeal is over…
Me, I’ve totally drunken the GWC cool-aid and love the taste. If the 'cast was 5 hours long, I’d still listen to it all with a smile.
Fortunately, I had things to do yesterday while I was listening, but it was an awfully big surprise when I looked up at the end and realized 2 1/2 hours had passed. I don’t think I could give up the GWC though. It’s too much a part of my weekly routine.
Welcome, ChairSpread! Interesting point of view. Having said that-
AIRLOCK !
:DI’m just kidding. I’m sorry you haven’t the time, that is a bummer. I’ve got to say I’m strongly in the ‘more is better’ camp as far as GWC goes. Of course, it’s about the only 'cast I listen to, and certainly the only one I listen to regularly, so I don’t have a time constraint on listening hours. Are there any other 'casts taking up your time that don’t correspond to a weekly show or event, so that you could put them on a less frequent listening schedule and free up some GWC time?
Seriously, welcome and post well and often!!
I listen to the cast when doing things that are boring. I brush my dogs major shedding furry body. That could take longer than the podcast. Listen on drives, weeding etc. It helps to enjoy the time when you are having less than fun.
Here here; I listen to the 'cast while I write my papers for school, so the longer the better.
Completely unrelated, I’m a little skeptical about accepting Ellen as the final Cylon. A flashback (which may or may not be valid) is a little hinky for me, so until I see her in the flesh (and metal, as it were), I’m gonna go with it’s possible it’s not her. Part of it is just my gut, and the other part is theory: would the writers really give up the chance to do a big drumroll dramatic music swells big Cylon reveal? Anyone with me, or do you think that Ellen really is the Final of the Final Five?
If you listen after the Outro Music at the very very end of this podcast there is a really cool song phoned in by a member of the forum. He’s a new member and really doesn’t sing that well but man, the guy has a lot of heart. Be sure to have a kleenex handy.
Hey Baconpie, I think you just might be our next American Idol!!!
I don’t think it’s the singing that’s the problem, it was the recording. A decent mic goes a long way (says the guy who still does not have a decent mic.) Still, love the effort everyone puts into their contributions.
Man…I’mma have to call in Re: Zarek and Gaeta. I can’t believe the crue bought Zarek’s position so thoroughly. Truly the first time I’ve completely and utterly disagreed with the crue.
Love the itnerview
I was going to write down a arguement about why the cylons have free will but i just tipped over my bottle of coke and I am covered in coke
Okay okay okay okay the question of Athina. How long before we wait untill she betrays us? How long until we trust her? No really. How many time sdoes someone need to save humanity untill they are trusted? No really I’m not even making a point here
I strongly, and fdull eharibly believe that cylons have free will. They might be programmed, but they have overcome their programming. The cylon civil war was caused by overcoming programing.
Unless, there is no programming, their just made to believe their is programming. I am not syaing cylons can be trusted. But, I don’t think its a sort of programming that makes them able to be trusted. I think cylons can’t be trusted because theyu are distructive, have alot of guns, and have no reason to trust humens. And hey, I wouldn’t trust the hymens anymmore than the cylons. I trust Helo, but I do nto trust a whole fleet of colonists. I trust Athina, but I would never trust a group of eights withso much as a cookie
