GWC Podcast #145 (Live!)

OK, I knew there was going to be at least one “holy crap” moment here, but now…

HOLY FRAKIN’ CRAP!

Which moment would that be? The same moment that Sean said “Holy Crap” to? 'Cause that made me bust up. I could picture Sean sitting there with his eyes bugging out, arms limp at his side, right after RDM hangs up.

And might I say, it is awfully good to see these boards come alive again. Conversations everywhere! I love the on-season!

Well, given the number of OGs we’ve had lately, the boards haven’t been exactly quite. (BTW, anyone have a source for cheap herring?)

But yeah, that was the “H.C.” moment that caused me to post. Weirdly, it didn’t stop there.

Wait, does that mean I won’t be special when I finally make it to OG?

Everyone one is special…and homies.

No, at that point you’ll probably be special. There just seems to be a lot of malingerers coming over the hauspipe lately.

Yeah, I’m looking at you…

Chuck, Audra and Sean, you should be proud that when Ron was on the phone you three did so well to keep dialog going. If it was me, I’d be so star struck, the conversation would begin and end with “Gods, it’s Ron Moore!!!”

Or in my case stupid like “Just how do you keep you hair so pretty?”.

I’ve been listening to the 'cast in pieces this morning, and haven’t yet finished, but - Charbuck is great. Henceforth, she shall be known as Charbuck

And I loved the interview with Kandyse McClure, she was just so open and you guys were great with her. ! I’m looking forward to hearing the rest of the interviews in the podcast when I get to them

I think Chuck is really the fifth cylon. Outstanding podcast. Wow.

Test:cool:

Awesome 'cast. Tried to join a few times but it was Time-Square-on-a-friday-night crowded  Talkshoe definitively has to set up an exclusively dedicated server for the GWC live sessions next time

I would like to say that both Chuck and Audra did a fantastic job of keeping things going on the live cast. Audra was unflappable - even when surprised she never, not once, dropped her flow. Chuck was (as he always is) an unstoppable juggernaut of technical issue squashing and the central nervous system of the cast. I sometimes wish you guys could see the two of them in action. It truly is quite amazing.

I would like to say that Chuck, Audra and Sean did a fantastic job. And how about bkitty and D… made for an amazing night.

Great job with the 'cast, guys! I finally got to download a complete version after having failed three times (craaappy internet connection yesterday, pfft). Kudos on another memorable and fun podcast.

What a way to start off the season - SO MANY illustrious guests! A live 'cast! And many many new sig-line worthy quotable quotes!

Oh, and the episode, of course.

Charbuck, that’s a good one!

Just gotta say great job with the 'cast, guys… I couldn’t wait to listen once I’d finished watching the episode online yesterday. All the interviews were so cool, and of course major kudos for sounding so coherent and intelligent when RDM was on the phone. I think all I would have been able to say would have been “holy craaaaaaaap!”

Do you need ANOTHER person to tell the three of you how enjoyable your podcasts are? Well, do you?

I’ve watched only 5-6 episodes of Battlestar Galactica. (How scandalous!) It certainly appeared to be the sort of scifi I’d enjoy;dark, strange, good-looking cast. But, it’s not the type of show you can watch some of the time; if you’re not devoted, you just don’t catch on, nevermind posit ‘theories’.

But, since I obtained an iPOD and the gods created podcasting, I thought maybe I could get some clarity through someone else’s efforts.

And so there was GWC! I didn’t understand what the hell (it’s customary to say ‘Sorry Barb’ here, i believe) you were talking about, but as the podcasts went by (and the show wasn’t airing), I found it didn’t really matter. I enjoy listening to you three talk about anything. Happily, topics are mostly scifi-related; i do have a history as an ‘original Star Trek’ watcher (meaning i watched it when it was first aired (sorry young Audra)), know my way around Asimov, and can follow along pretty well.

So what makes me listen weekly (and more) to a 2 HOUR+ podcast? The level of analytical commentary provided, the wide range of cultural cross-references, Audra’s singing, Sean’s um…yes, well, whatever?
Well yes, all that.

I look forward to the podcasts this season; I even caught Friday’s episode.
And when it’s over, feel free to podcast any old thing. I’ll be there.

Hiker

(ok, I’m working on a theory…)

Welcome, Hiker! glad you found the 'cast.

1Welcome to the madness, Hiker!

Definitely an awesome cast!

As fantastic as most of it was, could Kandyse McClure have come off any sweeter? Seriously- I want to go shopping with her now and dish over cheesecake or something. I’ve gotta agree with Sean that it was the perfect antitode for a huge whopping pile of depressing material. (But outstanding. Just still depressing.)
