Today brings the final BSG season 4.5 ’sode, #10 — and our final podcast before the season 4.5 premiere this Friday! Highlights: We ponder Gaeta’s racist swing, enjoy another great Racetrack “find,” feel bad for Tigh after Gaeta’s obvious mistrust, wonder what cylon technology might keep the fleet functioning, speculate one final time on the big questions to be (hopefully) answered in season 4.5, and make some last minute quarter bets.
will listen to cast while cooking dinner tonight, but I have to say, that needle scene was intense enough to give me nausea
Interested in hearing what Sean “Rump Roast” O’Hara has to say today
You and me both - and I’m a cardiovascular surgeon (I just made up that last part).
perhaps it’s just the end of the day slump, but that made me laugh out loud
After watching the writer’s commentary and, erm, writing 25 pages of fic, I’m almost a little bummed they didn’t get Narcho. I like Gaeta and Hoshi, but it would be nice to think Gaeta’s got someone to go through the next half of the season with, even if it was never acknowledged on screen. Although that makes a little more sense as to why they wanted Narcho in the first place, if he goes with Zarek and Hoshi stays with Adama. (Speculation based on promos and YWKTT clues.)
I do wonder if the bit about Gaeta protecting Hoshi will come up, though.
Grrrr…rasha frashin’ frakkin’ cliff hangers…
What did Gaeta say to Hoshi in the hallway. I couldn’t make it out?
Hoshi: Felix. Felix, I don’t understand. Why would you set up a meeting with him, of all people?
Gaeta: I shouldn’t have said anything. Forget it.
Hoshi (angry): What are you doing?!
Gaeta (patting Hoshi on the shoulder): Look. You found me and you saved me, so I’ll protect you. But if this doesn’t work out, and if I’m wrong… you have a bright future, Louis.
Hoshi: What are you talking about? If what doesn’t work?
Gaeta: Keep your head down.
(Felix opens a bulkhead and goes through.)
Hoshi: Felix! What are you going to do?!
(Bulkhead slams shut.)
(Copy and pasted from Galactica Science because I was too lazy to type it out myself.)
“Gaeta: Keep your head down. — IYKWIM”.
I know, I know. That was really bad. I’m ashamed of myself…
oh man, what the frak is he gonna do !?!?!?!
Not to overly complicate the quarter bet, but which meeting are the Trio betting will/will not occur in the first episode? This exchange shows that Gaeta has made two meetings–one with Adama, and one with somebody else. Gaeta and Hoshi can’t be referring to the meeting with Adama in this scene because…
- Hoshi would not say, “Why are you setting up a meeting with him, of all people?” about a meeting with Adama because a) meeting with Adama makes sense in this situation, and b) Hoshi sounds a bit disgusted that Gaeta is even considering meeting with this “him,” which doesn’t jive with a meeting with Adama either, and
- Gaeta saying “I shouldn’t have said anything. Forget it,” suggests that this other meeting is a bit of a secret, or at least something not widely known, which would make no sense with the Adama meeting.
The Adama meeting will no doubt be interesting, but I’m really worried about what may go down at this other meeting.
Vader on
“GalaxyRanger has taught you well.”
Vader off
I haven’t had a chance to catch the 'cast yet, but did see the webisode. Gotta think that the meeting G and H are discussing is a clandestine
Baltar meetup
, right?
Doesn’t matter that you didn’t type it! Thank you for posting it…I couldn’t make out what Gaeta said after…“if this doesn’t work out” at all.
Waaaahh!!!
I really wanted Gaeta to stay with Hoshi!!
damn.
Tigh, quite simply, rocks.
Or
Zarek
, judging from the promos.
I have to agree with Kappa on the identity of that meeting person…
Kappa, is there anything BSG related we disagree on?
Has anyone been able to Download this episode either through Itunes or through the site?
I was having problems there too (I mean, I don’t have iTunes; Apple hates my operating system, heh, and I return the favour, but I have the feed in Amarok). The site and the feed direct to the same URL from what I can tell, and this is what’s going on in the background when it gets queried:

Looks like maybe a bit of misuse by the content host of the HTTP code for “temporary redirect”, and then it fails at the final redirect of cdn2.libsyn.com.
I hope this gets resolved soon, I was rather looking forward to the new podcast (as I always am!).
