I can’t get older podcasts to play either, so it’s probably something wrong with the cdn2.libsyn.com server and not something specific to the newest podcast.
i got the podcast on itunes after a while. it’s a great podcast as usually. very thoughtful discussion on gaeta’s new view over the cylons(or cylon), and the cylon psyche over all
I was able to D/L this morning. I don’t think it worked last night. There might be an iTunes issue there.
I thot it was just me. I couldn’t get it yesterday either, and finally gave up.
I haven’t listened to the 'cast yet, but after watching the 'sode, here’s my responses and ideas:
-
Maybe Racetrack is the final Cylon. Maybe there’s something extra-natural about her ability to FIND FRAKKIN’ EVERYTHING. Like how Chief was drawn to the temple on the algae planet.
-
I’ll repeat the Crew’s previous older comments about how Hogan can do more acting with just one eye than most people can with two. Or with their whole body. That look was a nice mix of being hurt and understanding.

Did he really have to start singing again? Ah, hell, we’ll give it to 'em…
Lee was only appointed by the Quorum as the temporary President. As soon as Roslin came back, she was president again. Lee mentioned that the Quorum was glad that she was back and that he had completed the shortest presidency. So, Roslin is the current president.
I think that Roslin will go through a dark night of the soul. She might then voluntarily turn over the presidency, either temporarily or permanently.
It was a little silly that the Quorum didn’t have Vice President Zarek work for the few days that Roslin was gone. They could have just used Lee as a liaison to the military until Adama calmed down. On the commentary, RDM mentioned that the writers had wanted to have Lee as president, at least temporarily.
I’m also surprised that there wasn’t some protest from the fleet having the father Adama as leader of the military and the son Adama as leader of the civilian government. It just proves what Baltar wrote about equality in his pamphlet/book before his trial. After all, Lee was allowed to muster out of the military during a time of war, and there is a shortage of pilots.
I couldn’t help but sympathize with Tom Zarek’s anguish as he argued with Lee that he was the legitimate vice president. But at the time they didn’t know that it would only be a few days without Roslin and I can’t imagine the writers giving the role of facing down 3 to Zarek with Lee just advising him. They were pretty much forced to give Lee a bigger role in government since his career change and the fact that he is a much bigger character than Zarek.
Whats up with the Cylon-Cylons anguish on the podcast? Picard wouldn’t say that the Borgs are attacking, Hitler wouldn’t say that the Frenches are surrending.
One of the Tighlons has to be a number 7. The FC just can’t be the 7 since he/she has to be the coolest, baddest ass cylon of all. Why would they make the FC and then be compelled to make the 8’s?
I think Sean is right, the FC is on Earth, but guess what, its a copy of Roslin! Who says that there can’t be a copy of the FC on Earth whoever it is?
My only hope of winning an auction item is to bid on a toggle switch,

Yeah, I think that you are right on. I could actually see Roslin pulling a Fidel Castro-like exit from power, while perhaps even retaining the title of President. She would appoint Lee, who clearly would do a better job but still essentially be an illegitimate leader, as the fleet would have no say in the matter.
Not sure if anyone posted this or not but if anyones wants the webepisodes Itune has them for free for Download and this time no commerical before each sode!
Yes, also see Demonoid and The Pirate Bay for similar offers but seriously now, where might one find these webisodes with commentary? I mean, other than the official SciFi.com site, naturally, since as oft noted they’ve entirely dissed non-stateside fans and disallowed anyone even so “far” away as Canada from seeing them . . . as a commentary junkie this makes me rather disinclined to throw money their way next time DVDs are released, childishly jingoistic as they’re acting at this moment.
YouTube is your friend. I think if you scroll back through the archive far enough, Galactica Sitrep has links up.
Why do you call that 8 “back yard bar b q 8” I’ve heard it said on the podcasts before but I never understood why she got that nickname. Any help?
Welcome aboard, timiscute.
Apparently, the outfit she was wearing at the start of the webisodes looks like the type of outfit you’d expect to find at a Texas barbacue.
Indeed, thanks, I found them there!
Relatedly, I love the interview up at Sitrep with Rob Kutner and John Hodgeman, especially Hodgeman’s question about the webisodes:
Even better though is the Battlestar-related pitches that the Daily Show writers apparently made recently:
