GWC Podcast #140

The way you said that …sound very …ya know…dirty.

I’m holding out for Willow.

YOU’VE NEVER SEEN BUFFY!!!

It’s currently being shown on HBO these next couple of weeks. Kristy Swanson’s a babe…

Kristy Swanson !!!???

Yes, she looked pretty good in the Buffy movie. Now she’s old, shrivelled, ancient. (My age)

Thanks Pike. I was wondering when I had seen a similar recap video. Both are well done.

Just want to say keep up the great work Audra, Sean, and Chuck. Talk about whatever you want to, as long as you want to. I will continue to listen. Your podcast, and the forum, has helped me get through some rough post-partum depression.

Cheers!!

I just posted a review in iTunes that tried to point out that this podcast is three people talking around a virtual water cooler. What else do you do around a water cooler but chat, ramble, rant, and meander through a veritable cornucopia of topics, some not related to others?

Face it, if Chuck, Sean, and Audra only talked about BSG, they would: a) have little new content to discuss and would drive the old content into the ground; b) have shorter podcasts during the interminably-long hiatuses to which Sci-Fi has subjected us; and c) still be funny and worth listening to on a weekly basis, something I have done since episode 1.

Long live GWC!

Awesome! So all I need to do is play D&D if I want to learn how to cast real magic. Wish I had known this a bit sooner.

Yeah, I wasn’t sure if someone watching the BSG one would really feel caught up, so I watched the Lost one (I had lost track of that show after the first few episodes) and it actually does a decent job, despite the snark.

I know, it’s like an advertisement, right?

I used to have so much fun when I used to drive my youngest kid to Nursery School. I would hide the garage door opener in my pocket, and pretend I used magic to open and close the garage door. Sweet.

I hope they’re serious about having Aaron Douglas on the show after BSG wraps. It’d be awesome if he was really like Chief, and the conversation veered into tech talk.

Listening to the this podcast still, and I’m just now getting to the great discussion about paper and dice RPGs.
Just to enhance the topic, here’s a couple old threads on the subject:

I don’t know if Chakotay was the lameest Trek Character.
Kes was probably my least favoriate Trek Character of all time.
I always found Geordi a little irritating too.

Ahh!! Music to my ears that ya’ll are talking about doing a Trek Arc. I’ve been waiting and waiting.
I’m a Trekspert (not a Trekkie, not a Trekker…a Trekspert).

This Friday is the last podcast, EVER, with an episode that will not be named! After that we get new content, and then I doubt they will begin every podcast with the name of the last ever BSG episode.

So, call in your Revelations now!!!

Holy craap! You’re right. Get on that, everyone.

you know… talking about lame regular characters of trek, i thought of Jadzia. Not that the character has a lame personality. She as a person is pretty awesome. But they involved her with more lame stories than any another DS9 characters.

I think Chakotay was pretty much sidelined in that department as well. Though there were Chakotay episodes that I really enjoyed.

In fact some of my favorite Voyager episodes featured Chakotay heavily, episodes sans the spirit walk stuff of course. Nemesis from season 4, and In the Flesh from season 5 to name a few.

Though overall he was a lame character. If only he was given more of a Marquis spine when it comes to disagreeing with Janeway.

I’ll see your Jadzia and raise you an Ezri

Alright people, I’m going all in with Travis Mayweather. I could count on one hand the amount of dialogue that character got.

which is so sad, because like Jadzia, Travis had an interesting personality and back story, he just got shafted. I guess his character development had to make way for hot gel scenes.

Oh wait, I see your Mayweather and raise you Hoshi… I guess that’s why Enterprise failed, at least 3 of the regular cast failed to receive any good character development.

I guess even Chakotay had an interesting back story, only that his personality was a big suck up.

No way. Hoshi is totally redeemed by the mirror universe. She was hot, naughty Hoshi.

I have never seen Angel with the exception of turning on the tv when it’s on TNT & changing the station! Buffy I have seen I think the first 2 episodes. Incidentally, the entire first season is on Hulu if you are so inclined.
