We begin our windup to the BSG season 4.5 premiere with a watch of the awesome Catch The Frak Up video. Highlights: we recognize Tigh as (now) one of the most stable people on in the Colonial fleet, remember how everything’s already beginning to fall apart for the Cylons (and colonials), discuss Cally’s incredible hotness (and Tory’s and D’Anna’s…), speculate that Chief’s cabbage comment might’ve been adlibbed, comment on Rick Astley’s likely-sizable IHOP income, and look for a Dallas-area paper-and-dice gaming session to join to introduce Audra (and re-introduce the rest of us) to the genre.
Who is giving you craaap? I will hunt them down and deal with them Keyser Soze style!
Um…one thing…slight correction and I hate to…but y’all started right before season 3. Chuck said, “Between 1 and 2.” And I can hear Chuck now, “Yeah. Whatever.” I know. I know.
Listening now and I just wanted to say, you guys are SOOOO right about the aura of the 60’s. Burying things doesn’t make them clean & pure, just rotten at their core.
I make lots of mistakes about lots of things – but I did start watching BSG between season one and two. That’s when Sean convinced me to watch. We began our discussions during season two, and started podcasting leading up to season three.
Me confused. Sorry. When I listened back I realized you were talking about personal viewing and not the podcast.
OK, you’re talk of where you’re going with this “after BSG” has got me really excited. I can’t wait to see where you take all of this! OH! I& screw the people complaining that you don’t stick to BSG exclusively. The thing I like aobut your casts is they really & truly feel like conversations my friends and I would have just sitting around shooting the bull. Keep up what you’re doing it’s good stuff.
Yeah - Those Fools!!!
Who is complaining???
Please turn down the beeeeeps or just curse. Ok I can’t find anything else to complain about.
You want to see Florida come visit.
In my case, I merely enjoy saying or writing “Those Fools!”
And I, for one, enjoy reading it.
Please do not change the name. Galactic can be for all science fiction.
I never understood those who complain. It is free and there are thousands of podcast if you do not like one. I thank you guys for doing such a great job.
I think of the commercials for the movie Grand Torino. He yells get off my lawn! I just think of the GWC folks.
Well, they’ve been doing that, slyly. The forums are under “galactic” but the blog is still under “galactica.”
I’m about two thirds of the way through, but you guys have THREE gamers ready to go. Half of my gaming sessions were two or three people.
Audra should listen to the WotC D&D “Penny Arcade” podcasts, which feature a group of players (some experienced, some not) learning and playing a session of the new D&D. I love them, just for the nostalgia of what a good gaming session was like (and this one was good in all kinds of ways.)
There’s another one coming up soon which includes Wil Wheaton. That should be fun as well.
Chuck and Sean should check out “Brilliant Gameologists” which do a pretty raunchy, but insanely insightful, podcast about more advanced gamer topics (leaning towards, but not exclusively, GM issues.)
Note that I haven’t played a pen-and-paper RPG in decades now, but I love both of these podcasts, so they’re entertaining in their own right.
OMG! How could you talk about other things other then BSG! Sorry I couldnt resist.
I don’t mind that you talk about other things other then BSG, it’s part of why I listen.
I’ll chime in to say I’ll definitely be a supporter of the podcast post BSG (though, I do like the name as is, regardless of the material in the podcast. :D). If the hiatuses were any indication, I definitely enjoy just as much the diverse spectrum of things discussed other than the BSGverse, and have learnt more than a few things or two in addition to being introduced to new things to read/play with/watch/study/etc…, of which I’m grateful for!
Who wouldn’t love a random discussion of Rick Astley anyway? BTW, Audra, was this the song you were thinking of?
Yeah, I may have come here originally for the BSG, but I’m staying for the fun of discovering great new things and returning to old favorites. I never would’ve rented The Animatrix without GWC, and I loved it; I’m looking forward to being surprised like that in the future.
No discussion of Firefly??? Those Fools!
Hey Guys
You go ahead and talk about whatever you want to talk about. I’ll keep listening.
A Trek arc after BSG?!!?! SQUEEE!!
…cough er, I mean, that sounds fine. I’ll be sure to listen. (and luckily already have my avatar ready). :D:cool:;)
Pretty sure you guys could talk about cleaning clothes for 2 hours and still manage to be funny.
Don’t worry for some people its never good enough, too much bsg not enough, who cares I’m listening to be entertained.
I thought while listening to the podcast, It would be fun for the wepisodes that all that goes on the ship is for nothing since they will all die. But since they’ve sent Racetrack, she finds the real earth instead of the survivors.
Okay, so I was trying to think of something cute or sarcastic to say regarding the fools who send hate mail regarding non-BSG podcasts and the only thing that came to mind was the wisdom of Mr. T
I Pity the Fool!
My vote is to keep doing what you are doing, don’t listen to the haters, and keep on talking.
