GWC Podcast #130 (Bonus)

you mean woman right? :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyone noticed that this thread on a podcast about a 4 minute bit of exposition has about 8 times the number of post as the thread for a full length movie?

Well, it is Battlestar Galactica at Galactica Watercooler

Sweet! Now why didn’t I think of that? Having a stupid moment

X-Men, schmeX-men… We have new BSG content!

I finally got a chance to watch it, and I’m happy that however it goes, it’s definitely getting me psyched for the return next year (that and that we’d be getting NEW content every week, even if it’s just 4 minutes long. I am so BSG’s bitch.)

Grace Park totally rocked both characters. I guess that’s the advantage of playing a cylon in a tv show - you get to portray different personalities but still be the same person to a certain extent. And I think both Eights are just Eights and not Athena or Boomer, just because with the history, both would be more chatty with the crew. That and the fact that Athena would probably be flying one of those things instead of being a passenger.

But, hey, I was kind of disappointed in that kiss there. It didn’t seem too passionate, and that guy just brought you heaps of drugs! I think a much sluttier kiss is necessary, Gaeta.

And I was seriously hoping for a peg leg. Argh…matey.

Hah. You ever look at a “beginner” prosthetic up close? The only thing stopping him from going full-on pegger is the clunky fake foot under hideous shoe - which can be detached in a lot of today’s prosthetics. Detachable Pirate Gaeta! (Action figure coming soon.)

Also, another thought for the Gaeta’s-not-House pitch: He’s still using crutches, and has a beginner’s prosthetic leg. He’s still going to be in -major- pain - even if he’s completely healed from the amputation; he now has to put all of his weight onto the stump, and press it against either a hard plastic or metal scoop. Sure, there’s a foamy, softer insert (Maybe. How well-equipped is the fleet with that kinda stuff? I dunno.) but that’s still something that his leg’s not used to - and until he callouses up the end of that stump, it’ll hurt for some time yet. Also, I can’t recall, was he an above-the-knee or below-the-knee amputee? This does make a large difference: If it’s below the knee, he’ll have difficulty. If above, I want to know why he has to skulk about to get that morpha.

I wonder if they’re running low on morpha, so they’re cutting him off early. It’s been a rough few years, so maybe Galactica’s medicine stockpile is nearly run out, and now they have to conserve since they certainly can’t swing by a pharmacy on Earth/Erf now to get refills.

Then again, the supplies of brown hard liquor seen to be endless.

Say, whatever happened to that English girl we pissed off earlier on, with all the peg-leg jokes?

Latest info is that she is on a BA non-stop to Singapore.

Old Timer is the only other GWC’er, other than Boxey, who never fails to crack me up~!!! hoah! you rawk…

schwing~!

:stuck_out_tongue:

I just assumed it was to prevent him from getting addicted. Its obvious that its their version of Morphine which as we know is pretty addictive.

Oh, but that can be easily made

I would be bummed if this were the case, and especially disappointed in Roslin (or Lee, isn’t he the president now?). I wonder why that makes sense- I mean, if some people are going to be in a homosexual relationship or none at all, how does the rule help propagate the species?

Yes, he is! Thanks for the screen caps, B!

ROFL!!!

Welcome, Natalie Anne. I also noticed the excessively-bright command room in the webisode. Chuck and Sean are pretty certain that, because of the lower budget for webisodes and generally lower production value, they used a ton of light to compensate.

I’m pretty sure it was an above-the-knee amputation. In the first webisode Gaeta kind of curses to himself and grabs hold of the prosthetic, seemingly to adjust it before he gets up to do the non-linear calculations. In that shot, you can see what looks like a hard plastic knee-cap-like thing.

If Hoshi knows what’s what, he won’t just trust to love to help him find Felix- he’ll get Racetrack to pilot for him.

I’m guessing it would have to be above-the-knee since he was shot directly in the knee, and the knee was all infecty and gross after the adventures of the poo barge. I can understand perfectly why they wouldn’t want their tactical officer doing too much morpha, also. Even if they are able to cook it up easily and don’t have a supply problem (doubtful, considering the meds shortages we’ve heard about), you don’t want an active-duty military officer to be high on the clock.

OK I’m a little behind- just listening to the Bonus podcast. Wow Audra really hit it. That is exactly how I feel. You really made me laugh.

Welcome aboard Natalie Anne.

Is Hoshi gonna go where no man has gone before?

And soon after being alone with Racetrack he would start to mutter Felix? Felix who?
