Webisode #1: Felix and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
Thoughts:
-The flash-forward–yikes! Bloody Felix in a jock smock=not a good sign.
-I bet the shot of the needle in the flashes is somebody using Felix’s morpha. Is it to help somebody, or to overdose?
-So Tigh is still working in CIC–or was that Tactical? It looked too bright for CIC. Still, interesting
-The much-ballyhooed Felix-Hoshi kiss wasn’t really much to ballyhoo about, huh? It makes sense within the overall series, it’s nice to see that Gaeta has somebody who cares about him, and I’m betting handing him the morpha is an important plot point. Served character, served plot–I’m satisfied.
-That Eight in civilian clothes knows Gaeta, I’m sure of it.
-So, nine days later, are they still hanging out above Earth? It wasn’t seen in the shot. Also, wow, Cavil & Co. found them that quickly?
Im actually quite happy the kiss wasnt this big passionate scene with orchestral music in the background. It was just a quick casual one.
I want to know what the hell happened on that Raptor. Is Gaeta the only one alive? I didnt see anyone else.

We’ve got two threads here for the same thing…we should decide which one to use, yours Apollymy or Kappa’s, and stick a message on the one we don’t use…that way we can avoid having to jump back and forth. At least, that’s what I’d suggest.
I think it was tactical, given the parting shot of the model raptor.

I thought it was well done as well. They didn’t do a big lead up, didn’t make it a big deal at all. It was a typical goodbye between 2 people who care about each other.

I am as well, I’m half convinced it’s Boomer, perhaps she snuck in with the other 8’s after running off?

Looks to me like that Raptor had a massive electrical failure/fire. In one of the shots Sharon is reaching into the guts of the ship, she probably gets fried. There’s another shot of her I think with a massive neck wound.
What’s that list of people Gaeta is writing ? Or is it Gaeta doing the writing? Names with corresponding sets of numbers, all different. Hmm.
Why’s he got the jock smock on? Maybe one of the pilots bought the farm and cabin pressure loss is about to become an issue, so he donned the gear.
It would just make for a better discussion if we all got on the same one right from the get-go, imho.
Liking how you can just go back and stream it, no waiting for the next hour to watch !

Now for my keen-eyed analysis (I took notes. My corokers laughed):

When Gaeta first appears on the Galactica, in the first shot after the “Three days earlier” tag, the music that plays is the creepy music they often pair with Head Six or the presence of skinjobs among humans. I see this as further justification of the “Gaeta is the final Cylon” argument.

That argument is one that I have been peddling for about 18 months now, but that’s still not as long as the argument about Gaeta totally playing for the Galactica Rainbow Warriors. I was spoiled about him and Hoshi weeks ago, but I was looking for a nice, steamy, makeout kiss rather than that chaste and emotional-eyed one. More gay kissing, says I.

Wait, in the six days between landing on Earth with only one leg and the temporal start of this webisode, he had a high-tech replacement leg added on and also got himself back to work?! Again- only a Cylon would recover so quickly from being made into a cyborg. I rest my case.

The whole crew knows now that Tigh, Anders, Tyrol, and Tory are Cylons, right? Interesting that Tigh is not seeming to face any backtalk while in command.

They would not have jumped to the wrong coordinates if Gaeta had plotted it or if Racetrack had been at the helm. Well, if Racetrack had been at the helm they might have gone to the wrong place, but there would have been something important and useful there.
Questions regarding the initial section, “Nine days after the discovery of a devastated Earth”:
A. None of the names on that list of Gaeta’s are names we know. What could the list be?
B. The hand cutting flashes look like the time that Athena sliced open her wrist and ran Galactica’s computers through her blood to clear them of the Cylon logic bomb. It also seemed vaguely ritualistic. Thoughts?
C. What is being implied about Gaeta and the Eights???
D. Is anyone else sketched out by Brooks, the knuckle-dragger in the Raptor? He gives me the uh-oh feeling.
No idea on the numbers, but ooh, what if it’s some kind of deathbed confession from something that happened on New Caprica? Gaeta strikes me as the kind of person who would memorize every name on a list of people whom he could’ve saved on New Caprica but didn’t or something to that effect.
Key word “a devastated Earth.” I still think it’s Earth, but boy, they’re tricksy, aren’t they?

Have to think the orders to keep Tigh as XO had to come right from Lee or Big Bill, and forcefully, too, or nobody would have it.

Yeah, this episode definetly doesn’t feel like it takes place after they reach earth, it seems like it would be in some time right before earth, but with sharons walking around.
