Sounds good. I’ll be there 5 minutes after the Apocalypse starts.
awesome. thanks for representin’!
Hmm…that place looks much more tastefully shady and sufficiently dive-tacular than the Winchester we have in the next town over. Ours actually makes a haphazard attempt to look reputable, with window boxes full of plastic ivy sprigs, and the “permanently affixed holiday lights”. Woot woot.
I’ve never been there, but I pass it almost daily. Apparently, it’s a great place to see live music. Their concert schedule shows a WIDE variety of acts, local and national. Hmm. I’ll hafta tell my parents Melanie is playing there the weekend of their anniversary. They named one of my sisters after her.
Yeah, that doesn’t help me much. I just burn and peel. I’m one of the pale chicks that blends in when I go to Ireland
Good to know you’ve got my back Armando.
I love this movie. However I am a big fan of the buddy cop movie, so I liked it even more than Shaun of the Dead.
Amusing incident that I’ve never forgotten: On my first visit to IRE (I’m a USian) I was hanging out smoking a cigarette on a street corner, and a Brit couple comes up to me asking for directions.
I explained that I had no idea where I was, nevermind where they wanted to go. After I opened my mouth, they probably got it, but they apologized and said I look very Irish.
The reason I find it amusing is that, aside from my eyes, I don’t look Irish at all (I’m half Polish and would blend a bit better there.) What they really meant was I didn’t look like a tourist, but my teenage self was utterly perplexed by that statement.
So, I guess I’m saying that you should go to Ireland, hang out, and weird out the (other) tourists.
That’s so funny! I could have a lot of fun with touists if I bung on my fake Irish accent.
I had a similar experience in London a couple of times with people assuming that I lived there.
Hubby tricked me into watching Hot Fuzz… but I ended up really liking it It’s hilarious! And the ‘scary’ parts aren’t too scary for me, so it’s even better.
The Sean-forgotten and Shat-reminded James Bond was great in it.
Indeed he was, but I’m sorry, when I saw the musical rendition of Baz Lurhmann’s R+J, I think I officially snarfboggled my drink. =)
I’m not a Bond afficianado - what role was he in R&J? Personally I love that movie, maybe it’s a chick thing?
Oh, and I had this weird dream last night that Talos came to visit…
I’m a classical lit person so that movie was not that great in my opinion…my ancient english teacher freshman year freaked out and cut it off after 5 minutes…check out the older romeo and juliet, its a hundred times better in my op.
So no, not a chick thing. Maybe a LeoDiCap fan thing.
yeah, I always struggled to get through Shakespeare on the written page. And you make a good point - I was 15 - 16 when it came out and I had a massive crush on him. Not so much now!
“In faith, I do not love thee with mine eyes,
For they in thee a thousand errors note;”
Never was a Leo fan; a tad before my time I think.
Always been a Shakespeare fan though
I thought quite highly of the Baz R&J. It’s a pretty good adaptation. Maybe the alt-reality setting threw him off?
Ah, okay, crossed streams here…I was referring to the segment in “Hot Fuzz” (whom Dalton starred in) where they did a little mock musical of R+J. Sorry, should have clarified. =)
Ah yes, I got myself all mixed up too, sorry
Was I dressed as a frakkbunny?
Leonardo DiCaprio’s before your time???
I’m just going to take myself and my walker over to the corner and fall asleep in a rocking chair.
oh, and get off my lawn!
