“Three stuck in the goo”
BKitty that was frakkin OSSIM!!!
I remember an old episode of “Amazing stories” that was about a possessed toupe that made people kill (the title I believe was called “Hell Toupe”)
Cain has possessed the hairpiece…
Earning yo geek cred. That epsiode was great.
The woman is dying after all and the wig is a death knell or at the very least a reminder. I’m sure that has something to do with it. She has backed off on the airlockin’, though. Baltar deserved what he got. I hate to say it but I would’ve dug for info also.
It was all Topgun, baby! I just sang it in!
I thought I heard that somewhere before. Props abound to Topgun and you!!
Based on that call I may have to revoke your callsign and give you a new one:
Chuckles
Great job singing BTW.
Heh - I would have thought if it were the singing the new callsign ought to be ‘Uhura’, after the tantalising stylings of Nichelle Nichols…
… I’ll get my coat.
Audra: For the record, the third category in Audible is “Erotica and Sexuality”
(blushes) Thanks!
As silly as I sounded, I’d think it would be Giggles or Hysteria, or even Dementia!
Thanks, Audra… It’s good to be back. I read the same article. Man, SATCTM is like a bad tune I just can’t get out of my head. Nevermind washing that goo right outta my hair.
LOL @ Lady D. I think you’re right, but Federer’s my man. He’ll be back in top form at Wimbeldon (I hope).
BTW, I think you all were spot on about the path to becoming evil or switching to the “Dark Side”.
I still think Spunky fits all three states.
Also, a Simpsons Treehouse of Horror tale. Homer gets a hair transplant from Snake.
Ahh, we’re brimming with true cultural literacy.
Bravo to the musical stylings of Barb and the imaginativeness of TG!
Also, bravo to the Trio and fellow boardmembers for not only bringing up the fascinating issues concerning stereotypes in sci-fi but also for discussing an oft touchy subject with intelligence and respect.
Re: Tigh’s Eye for an Emmy: see Frakking Toasters.
I think Chuck was spot-on with his observation about how having to see your actions through somebody you love’s eyes was a major part of Roslin’s turn in this episode. Not being able to face yourself in the mirror because of the decisions you’ve made is one thing, but not being able to stand the reflection of yourself you see in the eyes of someone you love, that isn’t even on the same scale of gut-wrenching-ness. When Roslin comes back from vision world, she’s desperate to save Baltar in part because she knows that even if she could live with murdering Baltar, hollowed out and hardened as she’s made herself, she’d be killing the woman Bill loves more brutally and completely than cancer ever could.
As for double-crossing the Cylons with D’Anna, well, this is still Roslin. I was disappointed with her choice, but at the same time, I think it would’ve freaked me out a bit if one vision was all it took to make Roslin join hands and sing Kumbaya with the Cylons. Firstly, just as a person doesn’t become evil overnight, a person normally doesn’t make a complete turnaround in one day, either. The first step is the hardest, but it’s not the only step. Secondly, the vision helped Laura regain things she’d lost, love and conscience; trusting the Cylons, on the other hand, is something she never had to begin with. In order to really trust the Cylons, she’d have to accept the new allies as truly a part of “us” and not still “them,” and Helo, Baltar, Adama, and maybe Starbuck are the only humans so far who have even started down the path to embracing that idea. I have a feeling it’s going to take Roslin longer than most to get to that point.
Also, back to the comments on “Sine Qua Non,” it’s weird how much my opinion keeps changing, in part due to the conversations about the episode in the ‘cast and on the boards. I was quite disappointed with the Romo-Lee story at first, but now, I feel like if I accept the not unreasonable premise that Romo can be seeing his dead cat and still have it together enough to be playing everybody as per usual, then it works pretty well. Romo borrowed Schrödinger’s cat for this episode–-Lance is both alive and dead until Lee opens the box, and Romo is both insane and in control and manipulative until Lee figuratively opens him up at the end. Considering how many people on BSG have Head Characters wandering through their psyches, imagining one’s dead cat–-especially if on some level, Romo knows Lance is dead, which I believe now-–really isn’t that crazy in comparison to a lot of other characters. If seeing dead people means you’re crazy, then Lee and Racetrack are pretty much the only sane people left in the BSG ‘verse.
One more thing, did anybody else find it strange that after all the build-up to it, we’ve still learned absolutely zilch about the Opera House?

All I can say is I so agree.
Frustrating yes, strange no.
Every time I use it reminds me of Romo.
If I remember correctly from one of the RDM podcasts for this season, he mentioned that they were telling the story as if it were one long episode. That they were gearing it up to stand up to repeated dvd watching.
If we can take a cue from season 3- it does stand up much better when watched straight through. Seemingly ‘weak’ episodes blend into the ‘strong’ ones, putting out a much more cohesive product than the week to week to year torture we’ve undergone.
I say, the proof will be in the eventual dvd pudding. Or marathon.
I didn’t hate Sine Qui Non. There were a lot of pivotals going on in it. Yeah, I felt a little captain obvious was going on, but dang, the ep was still pretty tasty!
I can’t wait to see it all in a row!
If Lee and Racetrack are the only sane people, how disturbing would it be for them to fulfill the roles of Adam and Eve?
Is this akin to how if you bound all the scripts for a season of Babylon 5 together and added the appropriate covering pages it would have been a novel? That is how I regard the story so far this season. The story is only just beginning and if they had originally planned to be able to finish with Friday’s episode then what was going to be the series cliffhanger is now just mid-season plot twist.
But Chuckles bought it in the raid on the tylium refinery!
Here’s your coat sir. Have a nice train ride. I did a double-take as I normally see that expression over at The Register.
I agree that Spunky covers such.
