“Shot through the eye and you’re to blame.”
lol great line.
Thanks for another great GWC podcast guys.
I’m in your phone - Locutusing your calls
I hate Romo in this episode.
Racetrack  Did she say my name?
I’ve got download and then listen to it in the pool!
Yes. See my bashing in various other threads.
They all live in a matrix. There is no Galactica.
GalaxyRanger, did you get a feeling that the people in the States watched a different episode than we did?
I mean the plot sounds the same, but they didn’t seem bothered by the weird editing. It’s sad EZ tv didn’t bother to upload the US version…
hey 吉平, welcome to the forum.
oh wow, I did not expect a lengthy Voyager talk…
I totally agree with you guys on Voyager. It wasn’t the best, but it wasn’t that bad…
Unfortunately I did watch it all 7 seasons, so I have some bottled up angry when the show ended.
But the first few season wasn’t as painful as TNG or DS9’s first couple of seasons. Once they got over the Kazon bit, it was great fun (as long as you don’t watch Threshold).
Is it just me, or am I the only one who’s hoping that we DON’T get new episodes every week? Now that we can see the finish line, I’m getting nostalgic already… and I want to delay the inevitable as long as possible, because once that magic number 420 comes upon us, it’s all over, my friends.
One episode every 2 weeks. That’s what I want. I don’t want month-long hiatus inbetween episodes, but I also don’t want to have 12 straight episodes in less than three months and then forever no more!
I haven’t listened to the podcast yet, but I heard that they were in love with Romo in this episode and I heard other people’s opinions about this episode. I have to say, everybody’s entitled to their own opinion, it’s a piece of art so there can be no absolute “right” or “wrong” because it’s always a matter of perspective.
In my own humble opinion, I hated this episode and I would like to see people being a little more critical of the show in the general - be that on the podcast or on the forum, there seem to be folks who treat Season 4 like the holy grail of BSG, thereby ignoring that there are indeed flaws, some major, some only minor, but this episode was one of the worst in the effect that it had on the overall story arc, as Pike said it’s not a standalone, it can’t be ignored, it affects all that was before and all that comes after.
I can only hope that the Resurrection Hub episodes will take care of at least some of the sloppy writing of this episode.
Again, I haven’t listened to the podcast yet, but I can imagine that the GWC crew is in a somewhat difficult position right now, with so many actors and other people from the show calling in, they may have to be a little more careful in what they say about the show, which would be sad because I would hate it if they lost their edge or their objectivity towards the show. Again, I need to listen to the podcast first, but that’s a fear that just comes to mind when I hear that they praised this IMO very bad episode.
lol, I figured you guys knew it was me, but got puzzled that you didn’t say something (this guy sounds strangely like TGPAL who called us right after that call). Figured you guys would catch the Galaxy Quest reference too.

Some one mentioned a similar idea on another of my BSG haunts. It’s an intriguing thought, but come on. I hope they don’t go the Dallas route. I can see it now… We get to the final episode then find out the re-imagined series was all a dream that TOS series Boxy was having.
I was a little surprised that there wasn’t any criticism of this episode. I’m in the camp that was really disappointed with the Romo/Lee President arc. IMO it overshadowed a lot of the awesome plot points in the show. It seemed that they just tried to make this the Mark Sheppard show. That storyline really affected the flow of the other story lines. I will say the insights you made about the ending helped me understand and rationalize about what Romo was going through.
To Scott
Hey man don’t worry too much about that letter from Comcast. I’ve received a number of those through the years (Yes I’m in league with Tigh and Gaetta ) and I’ve never had the FBI pounding on my door or my connection severed. My suggestion is to get a program like Peer Guardian.
I was a little surprised folks liked this episode so much. I was as excited as anyone to see Romo, but the “Lee as President” concept was obvious from the get-go, so the Lee/Romo scenes appeared wasteful. Upon a second watching, I realized the ‘head cat’ which made it slightly more interesting.
Regardless, the podcast was great as usual. I look forward to as much as the show.
I don’t think every episode is perfect, but I still enjoy even the weaker episodes in the BSG verse. I liked this episode.
Which brings me to what I wanted to say:
Thanks for being positive people, GWC crew. I respect that you guys don’t bash the show, because if I wanted that, I could just go hang out the skiffy boards.
Oh, one other thing—Skulls is not new, he has been with Racetrack since the beginning.
Lastly RE: Tigh. I actually think this is going to work out awesome. Just imagine: Tigh single handedly saves the RTF as Galactica actual. Then, after the hub, no. 3 reveals the final five. That’s the way I would like to see it go, because it would be a huge WTF moment for everyone, and like Sean, I like to see people get their heads messed with.
My head has literally been ductaped back together after seeing this episode. Missing a couple pieces though…
I guess now we know why Mark Sheppard thinks he’s being stalked.
Great pics, thanks for sharing.
Well Romo is great, and that was a worthy campaign to bring him back. But now that he has reappeared what do you think?
I am with a lot of people that believe the writers kind of ruined Romo in Sine Qua Non.
Which people I am one of. I say we need a poll. I’ll create one.
I think from the beginning Chuck, Audra and Sean decided to treat the show in a manner that everything happens like real events, instead of a storyline crafted by writers.
For example, when Helo went up to the president and argued for the use of the virus, there were some weird stuff that were written, which by Tomoh’s account, he told the writers that Helo’s character probably wouldn’t say things like that. But they went with it anyway. And the in GWC, the criticism goes to the character Helo, instead of the writers being careless.
I think that’s a good decision by the Chuck, Audra and Sean, because that way they can veer off from getting too attached to the writing decisions or editing.
But I just wonder why people didn’t talk about how different this episode feels from the rest. The tempo, the way it’s edited, just isn’t very BSG like.
I mean editing set the tone for the show. It’s like “writing style” makes a book what it is. For example, if you write Lord of the Rings in the style of Harry Potter, than it’d be a totally different experience. For example, if they edited BSG in the styles of Babylon 5, both are Scifi shows with long continuous arch and serious topics, but it wouldn’t be the same BSG we know.
At least the version that I saw felt pretty out of place. And I don’t want to bash the story itself, because i feel with better editing, the Lee for president arc wouldn’t ended up so awkward.
The whole Lee arc was offending viewer’s intelligence. I mean, come on, seeing Romo slaving over his white board, that was a waste of time, they should have made Lee president right away and THEN come up with an interesting story, like his shortcomings as president with which Romo could have helped him in a cool way.
I have to agree with that. Another way they could have played it would be to have Zarek actually put up a fight for the presidency. Honestly, I felt the Hatch got shafted because of the Romo arc. How cool would it have been to see Zarek clash with Adama. Even more so with the state Adama was because of Roslin.
I wouldn’t go that far, but he was definitely shoehorned into the episode in a way that didn’t really make much sense.
They all live in a matrix. There is no Galactica.
Will you take the red algae or the blue algae?
Yeah, I’m pretty shocked by the positive reaction too. As far as I can tell, the Sci Fi version was identical to the Sky One version, and yet my fellow Americans seemed thrilled with the episode. Maybe we’re just so used to craaaap TV that a subpar episode of a great show doesn’t bother anyone.
I didn’t dislike it nearly as much as you obviously did, but you’re right about the staggering lack of criticism. The story line and some of the developments were intriguing – or at least could have been, if they weren’t so muddled. Some aspects that required further exposition were completely glossed over, while others (like Lee’s inevitable presidency) didn’t require the sizeable screen time they received. It seemed to me like they suddenly realized how few episodes they have left and how much stuff they have to cram into them.
I can only hope that the Resurrection Hub episodes will take care of at least some of the sloppy writing of this episode.
Hopefully this episode will be an anomaly rather than the new (sub)standard.

That’s a good point, not biting the hand that entertains you.
And no, that’s not what I mean.
I think they were trying to make a reference to Dick Cheney heading the exploratory committee to find a VP candidate for then-Governor Bush’s first presidential campaign. Of course, the committee found that Cheney himself was the best candidate. Kind of an obscure bit of American political history, granted, but it seems to be an obvious connection. In any case, it was far more drawn out than necessary.
Upon a second watching, I realized the ‘head cat’ which made it slightly more interesting.
Definitely a bit of ammunition for the Heads = delusions crowd.
Regardless, the podcast was great as usual. I look forward to as much as the show.
In this case, probably more.
