GWC Podcast #101

That was so cool that Mark Shepard and Donnally Rhodes called.

I dont know if anyone remembers it, but Rhodes was a in a canadian show that played on Disney when I was little called “danger bay” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danger_Bay when I first saw Galactica I instantly recognized him.

Also, the Banana Condom thing (Can I say that), in the movie Juno there is a scene before she finds out she is pregant or maybe after of a teacher pulling a condom over a banana. It made me laugh when I saw the scene cause it right after Sean or who ever mentiioned it.

30 years!! Thirty Years to erase that image form memory!! And now it’s back.
Noooooo!!! I know I was one who suggeted re-watching Orginal BSG during the break----but now I’m thinking: Does hulu have fast forward?

Sacrilege! Cookies are an occasional food for humans, but certainly not for Cookie Monster. If he starts varying his diet, it’s only a matter of time before he realizes that he’s a MONSTER with easy access to tasty children. Not to mention the other potential downside of denying him that which he loves:

I loved Transformers as a kid and was horrified when I heard that Michael Bay was doing the movie. Despite my reservations, he actually did a fairly admirable job of it, although the movie focused on the humans too much. The robot effects were also too intricate, making it difficult to tell what was happening or who was who during action scenes. That said, Iron Man was better in almost every way. Inspired casting, great CGI and practical effects, great writing, story, and humor, etc.

Otherwise, he might be forced to defend himself.

I remember him from a recurring guest appearance as the ex-convict Dutch the occasional love interest of Eunice Tate (if I remember correctly) on Soap.

Didn’t listen yet, but that’s awesome that Sheppard and Rhodes called in. I (jovially) wonder if it’s because of Mr. Trucco: Like, if Trucco in real life is as cool as Anders? And when word got out to the rest of the cast that he called, they felt like they should, too? “Anders called – those guys must be alright!”

of course!!! thank you, Phil! I loved that show

oh right my cali buddy who checked out and commented on my own podcast! thanks didnt know her non screen name! “sorry barb”

lol! I’m still in the early part of the cast- haven’t got to any "sorry barb"s yet!

Audra = awesome - you are so right about the gratuitous nudity.

and back I go to the rest of the podcast…

Chuck, it sounds like you weren’t aware that you can buy the shows on Amazon Unbox. They set up that up for this season after they canceled the deal with Itunes.

So far this season, Amazon has the episode up by 2am or 3am on Saturday. I guess that’s about 5 hours after it airs on Sci Fi.

Yay! Support.

I should point out that I don’t think nudity in movies/tv is wrong, or that all nudity is gratuitous. But in SG1’s pilot episode, it was pretty silly. It didn’t add to the story or contribute in anyway except, presumably, cheap titillation for a certain portion of the audience.

Fwiw, I think the partial or whole nudity in movies like The Big Lebowski, Amelie, The Life of Brian, American Beauty, and the famous Titanic scene - all of these were fine and non-gratuitous, in my opinion.

I keep sending in calls, but none of them end up being played. Even on the listener calls podcast, none of my calls got played. I’m just wondering if you guys even got it, or if i missed them.

I guess i’m the youngest gwc’er at 12 (13 in 2 weeks). Me and boxy, defending cooky monster lovers all over.

Only on Windows. It’s Itbay Orrenttay for the rest of us.

I reluctantly agree with you here. The one that always comes to my mind is the ‘decontamination’ scene in Enterprise. If I’m rolling my eyes, I get taken out of the show just a bit.

That was vital to the plot! How else are they going to get rid of the space germs???

Anti support. Chest is not a fair comparison to junk. Junk to Junk ratio is probably close to equal.

What’s funny is it really makes no sense whatsoever taken in context with the rest of the series. It’s only the pilot that has that problem; the rest of the series is fine (hilarious even  ). Personally, I’d recommend you start with the third-to-last episode of season 1, and watch through the beginning of season 2, then maybe go back and watch season 1. That’s how I ended up doing it.

Joe

I was wondering where we find that poker picture I keep hearing about?
