GWC Podcast #101

In this first week off during season four, we take the opportunity to respond to a ton of listener calls. Highlights: we wish we had a doctor like Doc Cottle, learn that Chuck’s middle-school librarian was incredibly cool, wonder why there aren’t more colonial injuries considering the state of war in which they live, search for anyone who’s “dying” and “a leader” at the same time, hear Audra’s full frontal Stargate nudity rant, question whether Darth Vader is “hot,” tell lots of stupid stories, and play episode 100 congratulatory calls from two BSG cast members.

yeah I had to watch the miacle of birth last week for the second time. My bio teacher said that she thinks this new generation should watch it before we go out to a party.

Aargh! I’m at work (as if that’s not obvious :)) and can’t listen to it for hours. :frowning:

here’s some of that original series scantily cladness Chuck mentioned

who’d like to see Lee & Anders battle it out in these outfits?

(As Chuck would say) Oh my. I wonder if they moved from jousting straight to the swimsuit competition??

Poor Dirk’s got that little belly pouch that will just not go away…

Starbuck and Racetrack instead?

Regarding the hot’n’heavy discussion with 6, I’d have to say I’m on Sean’s side. It think its pretty clear that when 6 is shown to be kissing someone while lying horizontally on the floor and then a commercial occurs, its pretty strongly implies that somebody hit a home run.

Come to think of it, if Six kisses you that pretty much means either a ‘homer’ or one (or both of you) is going to die:

Six kisses Armistice Station guy: both dead

Cap Six kisses Baltar: Score

Six kisses Helo: Six shot by Sharon

Gina kisses Cain: Score

Gina kisses Baltar: Score then nukes self

Six kisses Tigh: Score

Natilie kisses PTS Six: PTS Six shot

Hmmm, looks like nearly a 50-50 shot… I’d take those odds…

The only fly in the ointment is Adama. Shelley Godfrey kissed him and no death/no score… A very strong man indeed…

I am sorry Sean, Iron Man was better written and had better acting overall vesus Transformers. I grew up on Transformers and Marvel comics. I had the classic Transformers toys as a kid and still have some the comics. I am just saying, you have to step back from you Transformer bias and look at these two films on their own merits.

We need an Iron Man versus Transformers Movie (Michael Bay version) poll.

Thanks for another great podcast GWC crew.

i mighta missed that podcast but who is this person you apologize to when your use swear words??

that would be my good friend Barb, aka the lovely and talented bkitty, who listens to the podcast while driving a school bus

Okay, I finally saw Transformers (Bay) AKA Shia LeBeouf In: Nonononononononononononononono the other week, and I’ve seen Iron Man … I didn’t grow up reading either one (yes, I know, a child of the 80s without Transformers) but this gives me licence to judge them on their own strengths … And Iron Man is infinitely better. And quite frankly, I thought Iron Man was going to suck (on the basis of X3, Spider-man 3, Daredevil (theatrical), Hulk (Lee), et al). I am proud and happy to have ett my words.

tl/dr version: Iron Man >>>>>>>> Transformers >>>>>>> Anything else Michael Bay has done

For the record, Cookie Monster still eats cookies. I can vouch for this because Lil’ Solai and I are watching Seseme Street right now. The only concession they have made is that Elmo sometimes notes that cookies are an, “occasional food” which really isn’t a bad message at all.

RE: Doc Cottle and Lampkin Awesomeness

That was great that Sheppard and Rhodes called in. Doc Cottle strikes me as one of those characters that you can trust whatever he says. If he says it, it’s true or will happen. I actually wish we saw more of him on the show. The whole thing with Hera, that seemed like an OC moment for him, and the only reason I think he was persuaded to do it was that he thought it was best for the child, but still, very OC.

And GWC crew, STOP CHASING MARK SHEPPARD!

You hold your tongue. Bad Boys, Bad Boyz 2 and The Rock >>>>>>>>>>>>> You
