Win or lose, the best part about playing ff is you guys. I’m excited about the cool things we can do with our league (or leagues) next year, including a truly geeky GWC tie-break scenario.
DP, you did an awesome job as commish this year. You handle this league like a true GWCer. 16 teams may not have been ideal, but you made sure that there was room for everyone who wanted to play. And by adding new awards and playoff spots, you worked to make the league more interesting and enjoyable. It may not seem like much, but a dictator-type LM can destroy a league. You make our league awesome. Thank you for that.

So next year here’s what im thinking. Two 8-10 team leagues. Of those one is more casual, draft that year and draft new every year. The other would be a keeper league starting from this season. We’d draft the players from the teams cut but keep our starting lineup and maybe a bench or two.
And maybe some cash prizes next year for one or the other league? Who knows we got a few months to decide!
I’m all for a keeper league, but I’d really prefer to start fresh. I’d have to review my team but I think I dropped some players I never would have had I thought it would affect next year.
I’m down with small cash rewards. My hockey league charges $5 a person, and first place wins like $25 or so. 2nd wins $15 and 3rd gets their $5 back. It’s not enough to actually matter, but it keeps the game interesting.
Oh, and let me throw in my own “well done” for managing the league. In spite of my horrible play (Do you know I won 7 weeks IN A ROW and still didn’t make the playoffs?) I enjoyed myself immensely.
I won like 6 in a row at some point and missed the playoffs by what 13 points? This year was brutal.
That sounds more like a dynasty league then a keeper league. Not sure if I would want to have that many keepers, kind of takes a lot away from the draft which is possibly my favorite part of fantasy football.
Bout that time to start up this years planning and start. Throw at me some suggestions.
Other than “be as fun as last year” and “have me in it,” I can’t think of much. I seem to remember thought of splitting into 2 leagues if we have a ton of teams. I’m down with that.
As we’ve discussed, I think the leaguee has gotten big enough that splittihng into 2 leagues would be more enjoyable for everyone. It would allow those who just like to “play with their blocks” the ability to do so. It also allows for movement if the draft does not go well.
Don’t do the draft Labor Day Weekend?
Yes that seems likely. Lets start by taking a headcount of who wants to play and interest/skill level. We’ll either do a split based on interest or skill I think?
