Ladies and gentlemen, as I’ve already told a couple of people on Twitter, I’m planning a summer vacation in the US. (The GF will be coming along).
We’ve thought long and hard about where we wanted to go because I, for one, wanted desperately to see either the Old South and/or the Pacific Northwest and she wanted to see the Great Lake, the West and New York, so we’ve finally decided upon the following route which will take us from coast to coast in 3 weeks. (I’m thinking the last two weeks of August and the first week of September).
So, I guess, if you’re somewhere along our route and would like to meet up, I’d be totally up for that!
GR, I’m taking a vacation the last week of August in the Outer banks of NC, but if I’m back when you go through Philly, I will make every effort to drive either there or maybe D.C. to meet-up with you. I can’t pass-up the chance to meet you when you’ve come all this way. Looks like a great trip!
The way things look now, we’ll be in Philly on August 21st or 22nd. But I’ll post a final schedule once we’ve booked the flights, possibly as early as tomorrow, most certainly no later than after the weekend, I wanna get the flights while they’re still cheap.
Wow, how awesome would that be, to meet you guys in persona. Even though I’d feel bad to make you drive four hours just for me. How much of an inconvenience is a four-hour drive over there? Maybe we could meet halfway somewhere north of Austin?
We’ll be arriving in NYC on or around AUG 20th and then we’ll only have the rest of the day 'cause we’ll be heading for Philly early next morning. But yeah, sure, I’d totally love to meet up somewhere on that day. I just hope I can get a flight to Kennedy or La Guardia because the last time I flew to New York, my uncle had to pick me up in Newark.
You’re coming to Las Vegas? Really? You’re going to be the very first GWC’er to encounter me in-person perhaps? Wow.
What would you see in the valley? Mt. Charleston where skiing may be possible? Hoover Dam outside Boulder City? The Stratosphere?
Oh, and be advised that there is no bloody direct course between Grand Canyon National Park and Las Vegas. You have to pass through California briefly to get between the two locales.
The closest spot on your route to me is perhaps Nashville or Memphis. But if some other Midwest GWCers wanted to plan a Galaxy Ranger Road Trip, I’d be more than happy to coordinate. Once in a lifetime opportunity, folks!
