And something I saw posted elsewhere. Compare Walternate stating “I am become death, destroyer of worlds” with Walter praying to God “Take my life but save our world”.

Consider how different the two are. Then remember that both characters are played by the same actor.

Three things -

One - We are SO screwed
two - like the whole “Belief” blinking and turning into “lie”

damn I love this show

OK, I’m probably the last person to make this connection but…

All the problems between the two universes started because Walter was unable to give up his son Peter.

Now Peter has a son (though he doesn’t know it; yet). Can we speculate that the problems between the two universes end depending on whether Peter does or does not give up his son?

Interesting thot. But I don’t believe that the resolution will be Peter’s willingness to give up Henry (Gale). IMO Walter’s speech in the chapel and his decision to let Peter enter the machine was a much bigger factor which might save one (or both) universes.

On that note, notice that both Walters are now willing to give up Peter. Walter was willing to let Peter enter the Machine and Walternate activated the Machine knowing it would kill Peter. Both are willing to sacrifice Peter to save their worlds.

aka—sucks to be Peter

So true. But from the promo for this week. Looks like Olivia might be the one to pull him back.
At least they will be together.
This can’t be good.

That didn’t look good, did it?

No, that wasn’t good.

We’re frakked. We are so frakked.

ETA - The reversed bit at the end is someone saying “You were right”

Did I not say we were frakked? …

Love this damn show!!!

I won’t go into too much detail but tonites finale was WOWeeWOWWOW!!
Peter see the future. We find out how the machine got there and who sent it. Many more people die. We get a family reunion of sorts. And Peter goes missing so to speak.
Next season is going to be Interesting to put it mildly.

It was OSSIM. Just amazing TV.

Haven’t really figured out what I think yet.

I hate time loops. Where did the Machine come from?

So… what happened to Peter? It’s not like he wasn’t real; he was what started the whole war between the universes thing. Did he (somehow) erase himself from the timestream? What did the Observers mean when they said “his purpose was done”.

Who are the Observers anyway? Where are they from? They don’t seem to belong to either Universe.

It almost feels like they wrote this one expecting to not be renewed. I’ll have to think on this one a bit.

Just my two cents

according to Peter, Walter was one of the “First People”. He put the machine thousands of years in the past so it could be found. He may have even built it (which would make sense since Peter and Olivias DNA could start and stop it]. My guess is that is where the two universes divurged as well. The Walternate universe was always 30 or so years ahead of ours…

Peter didn;t start the war. Walter getting Peter did. as well as Bell’s subsequent actions. Not exactly sure why he dissapeared, however, it may be once he “merged” the two universes he was “cancelled out”. (he was the only one without an “opposite”). The question will either Walter or Walternate or Olivia or Fauxlivia be at some point next season reminded of him and have to against the Observers and separate the two universes and bring back Peter.

The Observers kinda remind me of Uatu, The Watcher in Marvel Comics. He’s just supposed to watch and record, but he’ll tell a hero from time to time what the real deal is. Maybe “guide” them to make the right choice. Maybe they are keepers of the timestream this is how they were gonna fix it…

From the Finale, Walter tells Peter that he built the machine in his timeline of the future. Also that he has to. The Wormhole that is in Central park leads back to the time where it was said to come from.

Peter didn’t merge the two universes per se. He tore a hole in both universes with the machine to make a bridge in the warehouse where the machine was. That’s why they are both there. Now where this goes next season is anybody’s guess.

Yes, but Peter was the trigger for the war. Without Peter, Walter would never have opened the initial gate between the universes. Now everyone is standing in a warehouse looking at each other going “wait, what are we doing this for again?”

Yes, that’s my beef with the ending, too. Also there’s the issue of what happens to Henry. (BTW I love she named him for the cabby!) He’s probably still in the alt-verse with Fauxlivia’s mom, but how can she not recall the father of her child? I can’t see forgetting Peter as something that will last many episodes into next season (just like Olivia not forgetting she was from our universe when they brainwashed her in the alt-verse).

I don’t really understand the Peter disappearing thing either. I get that’s it’s got to be an artifact of messing with the timeline, but I don’t hav it all sorted out in my head yet.

I’m assuming that Peter will still exist in the future-our-universe…so we should still see him in scenes from that verse, showing us more of how badly things are playing out there, which will heighten the need in our present time verse to sort out the problem.

Not sure how happy I am with this twist, but I’m willing to see where it goes.
