Let me add Parenthood to the list to Frak. Hilarious movie, great cast, even if you are not a parent, well worth the watch! Steve Martin, Dianne Wiest, Mary Steenburgen, Rick Moranis, Keanu…just to name a few of the actors who you’ll recognize. (Oh, and YOUNG Joaquin Phoenix when he was Leaf Phoenix–was thinking it was River.)
After rewatching this evening with my wife, I humbly submit, “Big Night” as a recommendation.
This is funny, I actually watched this a week ago with the GF and I had never heard of it before. I have to say, though, it’s not really a comedy, it’s funny but if you look behind the humor, there’s much truth and wisdom about parenting, very authentic problems are presented in the movie and it’s at least as much drama as it is comedy.
For the Valentine’s Day frak party I’d suggest True Romance.
You know what? I’ve seen this movie several times, but I’m racking my brain to remember if I’ve ever watched since I became a parent (9 years ago). Wow, I bet it would take on a whole new perspective for me now.
