First Friday without BSG (ever agaiin)

So I’m having a hard time accepting that it’s over. I KNOW that it is - but today feels really weird. :frowning:

Really?I’m actually glad I can catch up on some reading and I’m totally looking forward to the new Dollhouse, that’s totally my BSG substitute and a pretty good one at that.

So you’re caught up on Eureka?

Did I ever say I was going to get into Eureka? When was that?

AAGH! Now, I’m depressed again! I miss it so much already! :frowning:

No, I said you were going to get into Eureka.

Everyone. Get into Eureka. Now!

How the heck can this show have been on for THREE seasons and I have never even heard of it until right now?

Pike - Is it all played for laughs or is there a serious side?

I was in line at the grocery store and the guy in front of me was wearing sort of a toga. We struck up a conversation and he claimed to have been a Lord of Kobol, but he wouldn’t let on as to which one. Said he was supposed to appear in the BSG finale, but some character named IT showed up, threw his weight around, and the Lords all ended up on the cutting room floor.

In any event, he saw that I was bummed, so he reminded me that:

 1. Caprica DVD - 4/21

 2. “The Plan” - not all that long thereafter

 3. Caprica - the series - early 2010?

This is a lot better than an immediate full fade to black - and there are so many peripheral questions from the BSG unanswered that they may be dealt with via the above or, perhaps, another BSG movie someday.

Typical genius marketing. The GF and I only got into it a few months ago with a loaner DVD. We’re almost caught up now.

Pike - Is it all played for laughs or is there a serious side?

It’s serious, but they’re quick to go for the laughs. It’s a bit like Keen Eddie (which is another brilliant show that got pissed away. Sigh.)

Just watch it. It’s great. My favorite character is the frakin’ house…

OK. Will do.

It’s Friday, and I’m not looking at the clock waiting for my workday to be done here at the office.

It’s Friday, and I’m not planning what celebratory treat I’ll have along with BSG.

It’s Friday, and I’m not exchanging text msgs with my 20-yr old son re the latest questions or plot shock.

It’s Friday, and it’s just a plain ole Friday, without BSG.

Edited: 2 hrs later
Sorry if I sounded depressing. I’m all better now.
Later tonight we’re having a Firefly mini-marathon.

:frowning:
Wow that is so depressing…what will everyone be doing instead?

I am going to get a pedicure after work and then I’ll be working on a computer for my sister & her hubby while watching Wrath of Khan along with the Frak Party.

I have BSG on iTunes on the computer so in case of withdrawal I can just pull an episode up and be O.K.

I’m so frakking depressed now :frowning:

Today I have to work 4PM to 10PM, which is depressing in itself. At least I still have the DVDs.

I’ll have a few more hours with my Everquest 2 group tonight, so I’m not crying in my beer.

Will miss the show, will NOT get into Eureka (dang SG-1 killer, was even mentioned in an ep of SG-1 after it was known that the show was canceled).

Not sure how folks who have watched skiffy for long have missed Eureka. They had commercials for it in almost every commercial break for years it seemed. That was their “flagship” show for a time.

I know! I feel like I need to be looking forward to something…

oh wait, Wrath of Khan!

But seriously, it’s weird that it’s not BSG. Sad :frowning:

I’ll be editing all night while listening to the RDM commentary podcasts for Daybreak, parts 1&2. Been saving them up for just that purpose. Tomorrow night, more editing, with the live podcast from last week plus the first Star Trek arc podcast. Hopefully, this will help me come down easy. Plus, LOST kicks frakkin’ [sorryBarb] lately, so there’s that.
OMG(s)! Sayid shot wee Ben!
It actually didn’t really hit me until it was about 5:15 and I realized that I wasn’t really in a rush to leave or eager to get home. Then I realized why and promptly tweeted about it

And regarding Lost:
I’d say Ben totally had it coming, but not until after 1977
:frowning: i woke up today feeling a tad sad. but we all move on…

but then the SO came home from the Buy More with season 2.0, 2.5 and all of 3.0. AND my Firefly Bluray box set came in the mail today too. (SO got that for me too but doesn’t know it yet. Hehe.) I have to admit, presents take the sting of no new BSG away just the slightest bit.
