Which Stargate? The franchise or the original 10 season series?
Doesn’t matter. Farscape is pure, concentrated awesome. 
I’ve forgotten how much I love Aeryn. So, Farscape it is. Plus it’s a good point to bring up that Stargate had 10 seasons (plus all subsideries) - can’t say I’ve even watched all of the Stargate franchise in its entirety. Fascape, despite having a much shorter run, had a bigger impact on me.
I need to give Farscape another shot, I know, but the muppets thing is tough.
Trust me, they become the most fully realized characters on the show. Rygel and Pilot have so much depth that it actually becomes easier to think of them as aliens than muppets.

I’ve given Stargate a try a few times, it’s just not my cup of tea
As much as I love O’Niel, Carter, Jackson and Teal’c, the spinoffs bring down the franchise as a whole. And, I can’t think of another sci fi couple with better chemistry than John and Aeryn without going way back to Buck and Wilma. d:
So, Farscape.
Farscape. Much as I love Stargate, Farscape caught and held me quicker and kept me wanting more. I never wandered off, and it ripped my heart out on a regular basis and I kept coming back. Also, Crichton and Aeryn is still the best portrayal of a relationship I’ve ever seen.
And Farscape makes you forget that Pilot is a puppet–that’s magic.
Funny you mention Buck and Wilma. I have the whole series on dvd. It sure can be a fun run.
I see a lot of Stargate votes, but not many posts about voting for Stargate. We won’t bite you… We’ll let Rygel do that for us.
The thing with Stargate is that the franchise has reached Trekkian proportions. I like the original, some people like Atlantis, and Universe has almost a different fanbase than the first two.

The best aprt about FarScape, for me, is that as the first season startied to wrap up, the show started to get serious with its plot It did things with characters we know and love that are unthinkable in television, and the end result was a show that dared to be dark, and weird, and funny moreso than any other show I’ve ever seen. The show isn’t perfect, and sometimes we have to grit our teeth and accept the budget cuts or multi-part eps that don’t add up quite well.
As much as I love Farscape, there’s something about Stargate that I have to vote for it. Maybe it’s something to do with the fact that I watched Stargate from day one and for the last 14 or so years (ok I’m not loving SGU quite as much, it’s a good show but it doesn’t have the Stargate feel, I’ll still watch though). I came late to Farscape, I watched every episode in a suprisingly short period of time.
I am actually ready for a Farscape rewatch. I bought the DVDs a couple of weeks ago but my boxset had two copies of disk 5 of season 1 and no copy of disk 6. Completely unacceptable. It had to go back. There have been a lot of quality control complaints about the new set so I might hold out for a little while and hopefully they’ll fix them.
Throw Babylon 5 into the mix, and I bet the fight would get ugly
i see your point, i mean i have the same love for Buffy cause a grew up watching it, week after week so it makes sense. You’d have a connection SG more than farscape, as for Babylon 5 i have a soft spot for it it doesn’t rank close to Farscape, but it was even more revolutionary in many ways then fascape, and Stargate combined. I loved the earth destroyers design really felt like a space aircraft carrier.

I don’t think I set a close date on this poll. (I set 0.) It’ll be interesting if more votes come in and the two are still neck and neck. (I can see why that’s the case though!)
