This poll is obviously flawed given that there is no Firefly option.

No, seriously. Never seen an episode of Farscape and just finished my first viewing of the entirety of SG-1 so this was the only way I could contribute to this thread.
Farscape versus Stargate? I vote for Enterprise.

Farscape is kind of a weird show to get into. The cast is great, but there are parts of it that feel like the writers just wanted to duplicate Star Trek-style standalones. “Something bad is happening that no one knows anything about! Let’s figure it out without any long-term consequences in about 43 minutes, give or take!”
In this type of show the stand alones never seem to work. If you look at BSG, Farscape and Babylon 5, in general the standalone episodes tend to be quite bad in comparison to the arc. I understand that the theory is that arc based episodes drive away new viewers, but I can’t see that sub par stand alone episodes would attract them.
Stargate and Deep Space 9 seemed to be able to be able to mix arc and stand alones quite evenly.
The first three seasons of DS9 were stand alones though.
Crap, I totally laughed at that. I’m easy. 
But anyway, Firefly isn’t on here because there would be no contest. I think.

I like Farscape, and it was fun and all of that. Even listed it in the other thread of shows that ended too soon.
But when I think back on fun sci fi moments on television, almost all of those memories that AREN’T trek are stargate. There are three or four from farscape and dozens upon dozens from stargate.
Teal’c & O’Neil hitting golf balls into the stargate: still one of my favorite scenes ever!

and i may be mistaken but given time i think the people who voted for stargate will see there vote as a mistake. Kind of similar to when William Taft was elected…

I went with Stargate. Not just because I just got sucked into SGU and watched it all in the past month only to see it canceled. When it comes down to it, I just love Stargate. Even the 90s movie. I enjoyed Farscape but never truly fell in love with it.

i know i’m in a vast minority here. and i love firefly; love every episode every gorram moment… it was so very strong; but it just didn’t have the time to reach that highest of levels for me. It was missing the depth and scope of farscape, i have no doubt if given the chance it would have gotten there. but it just wasn’t given that chance.
