So the movie Fanboys is making its rounds to theaters. I highly recommend checking it out. It takes place back in 98. A gang of friends make cross country trip to try and steal a copy of Episode 1 before one of the guys dies from cancer. Its incredibly funny. Its wonderfully geektastic. There are some great cameos from all realms of the geek world.

Probably. It was only around here for a week. YMMV, however.
It pops in an out of the Art house theaters. it might make it to you soon. Keep an eye out for it. But definitely worth watching on DVD at the very least.
DVD I can do- art houses are a tough sell in my “Caddyshack is the best movie ever!” house. And no one get testy- I do love Caddyshack.
They were going to play it in theaters, but something happened and they had to re-shoot most of the ending. I heard someone bailed on them.
As rumor has it…
On the 501stcast, they talk about it every so often because members of the world’s largest star wars costuming group were in it and they did do some reshooting. They are also suppose to have the orginal storyline for the DVD release included.
The studios releasing it wanted them to cut the Cancer story line but the director fought for it and it got to stay in. The ending i saw was actually really incredibly satisfying. I don’t see how they could have changed it much.

Its out on DVD today. 14.95 most places (Best Buy or Wal-mart) 13.95 at Amazon but then you have to pay shipping
I picked up my copy of the DVD this morning and just finished watching it. I absolutely loved it and the cameos are fantastic.
This seems more acceptable, except I have to buy Firefly…
