Fable 3

There are plans for the creation of Fable 3.

So, me and my friends have been asking the big question. When should it be set?

Either 19th century/early 20th with steampunk, late 20th to 21st century and have magic realism or set in the future like a sort of Mass Effect with magic.

Me? Totally streampunk- I want my own airship!!

I just want a ramped up difficulty and for the game to be longer. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Fable 2, but there was absolutely zero challenge.

I’ve been playing Fable 2 for a few weeks when my son has allowed it, and I’m warapping up the story right about now. It’s definitely everything I liked about Fable and lots of the bad things fixed on top, which is nice, but I’m hoping for an even more fleshed-out experience with Fable 3, including more player impact on plot and what I hope is a much more deep take on morality. I’m usually an angel in morality games on my first run, and Fable II is no exception, but it feels kind of hollow.

I would love a Steampunk Fable 3.

Apparently there are plans for 5 games. So I assume each one will feature a more advanced civilization. Probably the fourth one so 19th century like would be the best for fable 3. Then Fable 4 set in modern times and Fable 5 somewhat futuristic.

I enjoyed both Fable games so far. Sure they weren’t the most difficult of games, but they were enjoyable. Hopefully the next game will be longer though.

Although an important thing to remember is that only about half of what Peter Molyneux promises will be in the game will make it to the released version. It’s his standard MO. It happened with the first two fable games and with Black and White.

The wait is almost over. Fable was the main reason I got an Xbox. They just keep getting better.

If you have the coin I recommend picking one up. How sweet would it be to have that Guild coin and playing cards?

I’m excited for Fable 3, though I am bummed that it will mean I won’t be playing Rock Band 3 or The Force Unleashed 2 for a while since they come out on the same day or picking up the Dragon Age Ultimate Edition for my PS3.

Anyone else reserved Fable 3, picked up their villager code and made their villager yet for the game?

Reserved it but haven’t used the code yet. I did however pick up the fable 3 360 controller which is sick

I haven’t picked up the controller but I’ve been bugging my local Gamestop for over a month for the villager code so I was kinda stoked to get it.

I’m debating if I want the control or not b/c I love the black and white dragon control my parents got me for X-mas last year.

It’s like wood grain it’s sick. Caught my eye from across the room

Just a week left now before we’ll be questing through Albion again.

I tried doing the villager, at least until they asked for the code. I had preordered so early that codes weren’t available yet. Got the code and haven’t done it yet. Will have to do it tonight before I pick up the game at midnight. It also cool that I’ll have RB3 and TFU2 waiting for the rest of the year, because nothing else coming out excites me. Also, I’ll make myself available for rock band if you need a keyboard player, cause I will be getting the keyboard.

I pre-ordered the collectors edition some time ago. Although it’s not released here until the weekend. It’s a little bit more expensive, but hopefully worth it. I’m a total sucker for special editions. No sign of my create a villager code yet. I suppose they don’t want people pre-ordering, getting the code and then cancelling.

I’m really looking forward to Fable III. I’m about half way through a Mass Effect 2 playthrough so I hope I finish it just in time to start Fable.

This game is pure dope. I’ve been playing it every night until 2am and will probably be doing that for the next couple of weeks.

I just got my code yesterday, made the villager but I haven’t seen the villager yet? I hope it didn’t get messed up, made the wife I wanted my hero to marry! (always do a very good person play through first, then super evil second  )

Got my copy today. The collectors edition is really nice. I’m looking forward to playing it, but I want to wrap up a ME2 play through. No sign of my bonus villager code yet. I dropped amazon an email, so hopefully they’ll get it sorted

Finished my first playthrough last night. Love this game so much, I was incredibly surprised to discover that I managed to unlock half the achievements already. Best Fable game yet!!!

end question for you:
is it even possible to be all good while king and survive? I’m being good but am going into massive debt and the casualty estimates keep rising every time I do something I promised to do, I’ve sunk 1.2 mil of my own gold into the treasury but am still like 64k in the hole and I’m only on my second day as king!!
Yes.
I was able to cover everything out of my own pocket twice over. You have to pay out of your own pocket to cover all the “Good” choices but it’s totally doable, especially if you invest in real estate early on. There is also several million in chests if you want to put in the extra time.
I second that. It’s how I did it.

Thought I would write a little review. I don’t plan to spoil anything but just in case -
First off, this is a great game and a welcome addition to my game collection. The combat is even better then before, writing is continually excellent and the new 3D interface is an interesting change.

Combat has become more interesting with the change to Gauntlets and the ability to combine spells. According to the developers they hired fight choreographers to help add some “flavor” to the game and it really shows. There are some very cool moves and I stated cheering on my hero like I was at a wrestling match. Only downside is that it will go into slow motion during a flourish and if you enjoy using them it can get old fast. This could also be due to the change in the weapon system and how they can change through how you fight with them (one of the things that will change weapons is fighting with flourishes). You now have the choice of using a “Hero” weapon (one melee and one ranged) or your choice of 50 Legendary weapons. I really like the change and it makes the relationship with your weapon deeper.

The 3D menu is a big advancement over the pages of menus in Fable 2 and with a few changes could be the ideal interface for this type of game. The fast travel is much more efficient and the managing of properties is easier then before.

The clothing and hair/makeup was disappointing. Half of the clothing is the same as in F2 and the selection for hair/makeup is almost non-existent. In fact, I played the majority of the game bald (female character) because the other choices all looked worse. The dye system has been simplified and works well. As always you have no choice on how your character looks but at least the female character looks feminine this time. One of my biggest disappointments with the Fable series is the lack of customization for the character, weapons and clothing.

The story is great as always but I feel like it has taken over the series. Not that it’s a bad thing (I actually like it. I think people usually play “Good” anyways, at least their first run through) but the whole idea that your choice effects your character and the world around you has taken a serious back seat. In a post Mass Effect 2 world, the bar has been raised so high I am not sure even the Fable team can reach it. For me that isn’t why I love Fable so if they stick with the current formula I will be happy. It’s also understandable with the story line being that you have to start a revolution against the current “evil” King implies that you will be playing “good”.

The economy, just like in F2, is totally broken. Even with the plot at the end you never need to worry about money. This is one of the factors that really make Fable in general a “easy” game to play. The story and feel of the game is such that it isn’t always apparent how easy this game is. I never got a sense of danger because there was no point I felt overwhelmed. I never got knocked out and even then you just get a scare (really, that’s it?).

If you liked Fable 2 then Fable 3 won’t disappoint. This game is great, it still has some bugs and in some ways show the signs of being rushed to get out. In the end, I still highly recommend it. Just do it! :D
