Fable 3

Nice review, Uchiha. I agree with you that
the ‘options’ menu sanctuary interface was a really great addition, though after a little while I really got sick of Jasper yapping away when I go there. Even if it is John Cleese yapping away, it gets tiring.

I’m not done with my first runthrough yet (just crowned king, so on day one), but money doesn’t seem to be a problem at all. The jobs are still kind of dumb, but I basically bought most of the real estate there is, and have accumulated around 10 million in rent already. I hope that’s enough to deal with all the promises. (btw, is there a way to repair all the houses in one command? It is very tedious to do it one by one.)

I think the battles are a little too easy (maybe because I’ve been playing dragon age and prefer the battle system over there. But if I’m complaining about the difficulty, and I’m a really bad battle person, then it must be pretty damn easy) and the big bosses aren’t too epic. I do like some of the slo mo fight scenes do. Very cool.

And I agree, the clothes and makeup are pretty dull (at least for female heroes) - I wish there were way more cool looking choices to pick from. And I still wish we could customize what our heroes actually look like.

The story is all right, but I was a bit underwhelmed (maybe being the king would change that) overall - I guess I was expecting a bigger ‘upgrade’/intrigue over Fable 2, and I don’t feel like it was there. But it’s fun for the most part, and worth a play.

I’ve been playing good for the most part, but I didn’t let Elliot die at the beginning, and it was pretty awesome he pops back into the game on one of the quests. (Naturally, I snatched him back).
you know in my game it kept comparing my stats with yours…and it was driving me nuts because I couldn’t remember where I added you on my friends list from, now I know! lol

finished my game tonight…it didn’t end well…I’m going to start a new character tomorrow or this weekend, be good again, but be more patient and accumulate more gold this time
though to be fair when I got on the ship I assumed it was going to just start a second half of the game kind of like fable 2 with the spire, I didn’t know I was starting the end game essentially
Oh, so this is where the game discussions are at. I learn someting new every day

I went a different route…
I just bankrupted the country, was good all the way through, kept all the promises, and defeated the Darkness. Of course, everyone died and now it’s a pretty empty Albion I rule over.

It’s perhaps not the recommended route, it’s certainly not the “best” ending, but it’s “a” ending, and I reckon that that’s a part of what Fable’s about.
Given the holidays are coming up and Sean will be able to switch from Fairy to Fable 3 soon (hehe), the timing of this one is great. The DLC adds Dobies, German Shepards and Poodles to the canine companion options

From Joystiq today:

If you’re still enjoying the Xbox version of Fable 3, there’s some more DLC headed your way. The “Traitor’s Keep” pack adds three new levels, all with fairly awesome names: Ravenscar Keep, Clockwork Island and the Godwin Estate.

Apparently you’ll run into a “mysterious prisoner” – and you’ll also run into 250 additional Gamerscore. The Traitor’s Keep add-on is due March 1 on Xbox Live for $7 (560 points).
