Scouts are your friend. Hope you were insured.
Yeah, I was insured, but I only have one account, so scouting isn’t very effective.
I have my other character on the account in that system with his noob ship (his only asset), but I’ve gone through that system at least a dozen times without incident, so I didn’t think it was worth having to restart EVE to switch characters twice.
I was talking more about live scouts like corpmates and such.
Low sec on weekends is often precarious. Weekdays could be less so.
Well, when one of the areas on the mission is nicknamed “The Raven Killer”, I figured I’d need the extra time. Of course, the trip through the unnecessary low-sec system ended up killing it this time.
Well I just canceled my account for EVE. I just find it way too boring. Too long and too repetitive. This is the main reasons I could never get into Computer or on line games. I just don’t have the patients for it.
Sorry to hear that. It’s a long term game. Setting goals like “flying carriers and making enough isk to buy and fit one” or “flying every non-capital ships of a particular race (or all races) with proper support skills” help.
I can that if you limit yourself to CCP’s provided content and pretty much play alone. Eve is very much a multiplayer game, and the rich experience you get when working together with hundreds of other players outside of the scripted pve plan is what keeps me in the game. If I were still running missions in hisec I’d have quit long ago. Everyone’s different, but personally I’m hooked on what CCP calls the end game sand box.
Ok I’v given it a little think and I’ll give it some more time and see where it takes me.
The key is to seek out a good active player corp that fits what you’re interested in. There are tons of them and they all have their specialties. Well, some don’t and they usually have too few people trying to do too many things and they just end up being a corp full of lone wolves.
If you’re not sure what you’re interested in, Eve University is a good place to start. You’ll get intros into every facet of Eve if you like, and you can fully explore whatever catches your attention.
Make sure to pick the right EVE University. There are a few with similar names. The correct one is part of the Ivy League alliance.

Well first I’m going to to need to up a lot of skills and get and loadout a better ship. Gona take a while but I think I’ll start with a mining ship to get up the cash then a nice warship. Yea. Warship That’s the ticket!
Eve U people can help you with skill plans, and ship fittings. Another thing about a strong player corp is that a lot of them will help new players with ships. What seems unreachable for new players is often a drop in the bucket for older ones. For instance, when I joined my first corp guys were throwing ships and mods at me. Now, I’m not opposed to giving a guy a ship if he needs one. What comes around, goes around.
You can ask us for advice here and in the GWC channel in game as well!
Very true, but having it available in game and in real time is great.
Just got my first logistics ship. Trying to decide on a name now. I have it narrowed down to Montgomery Scott or Galen Tyrol.
“The Aberdeen Pub-Crawler”
You’re welcome.
I’d reserve Montgomery Scott for a capitol ship. Even a freighter or Orca.
Just go ahead and name it ‘Caldari Elite Cruiser Wreck’ logis are usually primary.
