They had a bunch of moments like that this episode. My favorite was the Mars mission back and forth…hysterical.
Did anyone notice a somewhat similarity to the ST:TNG episode Genesis with the whole de-evolving thing? Although, it was certainly done to a very different effect…
Another review pointed out that this may be the wave of the future and an attempt to combat those of us that DVR shows and just fast forward through the commercials…
i personally dont mind having sponsors being shown in the show. It does nothing to affect the show itself. And its much better than other not so subtle ways of advertising that’s gone on forever. It was much worse in the radio days. i was listening to a old timey radio show a while back and they spent like 3 minutes talking about how good the coffee was and how much they liked the container. At least this has just been passing comments.
As long as they don’t go the Quiznos “They are lovers” way it shouldn’t be too bad.
So when are they going to sell the smart house for real? A bit of revers advertisement.
The sponsors thing is annoying the frak out of me personally. It doesn’t even make sense storywise. Why exactly does the US govt need sponsorship from Degree?
A computer company or something tech but deodorant. The product seems odd.
I have a sinking suspicion that we’re seeing a LOST-style alternate reality game. The telephone number in the ads works…which leads me to that hypothesis. Something big is going on that we’re not fully aware of…yet!
I enjoyed the Heroes game because it did not interfere with the show. If you did not play you did not miss anything. I hope that Eureka will keep the show separate from the game so you can just watch the show if you like.
Solai,
Thanks for recommending this show. I rented it from Netflix, and it’s a lot of fun. I’m halfway through the second season. I don’t care what the artifact is, but I always like to see Carter’s reaction to this week’s threat to the town.
What invention would you like to have? I want SARAH, though without the hidden homicide feature that is so pesky.
