Dragon Age II

I assume the new DLC will tie in to the webshow that Felicia Day is doing. It should be good. I haven’t had a chance to play the previous DLC that was released. I’ll wait now and play them both at the same time.

Legacy was very good IMO, well worth the microsoft points I spent on it

didn’t experience this in DA2 personally but this Sandal moment looks pretty WOAH imo…big things gonna happen in DA3…and I think they’ve made it obvious Sandal will be apart of them

There’s definitely more to Sandal that will hopefully be explored. The evidence seems to suggest DA3 will be in Orlais, just where Sandal happens to be going (actually that may be a little bit of circular logic on my part, Sandal going to Orlais is one of the major pieces of evidence that DA3 will be in Orlais, sorry). I still want to know how he wiped out a horde of darkspawn and froze an ogre. “Enchantment” and “Not Enchantment” don’t really cut it. I’m looking forward to a replay of DA2, I’ll just have to wait until this new DLC comes out.

working on my 4th now, going to get to the third act then wait for the DLC…but the whole Sandal thing is driving me nuts now…the whole ‘scary woman’ standing by his bed at night? what the heck? Flemeth? something else?

as for what Sandal said in this video…it just came to me that he could be talking about himself, what are your thoughts Magnus?

One thing I can guarantee is whatever I may predict will be completely and utterly wrong

My first instinct is the “He” may refer to the maker. This is pure wild ass guess territory though. I thinking it’s the trope where “God” is not actually a god. Perhaps an uber-powerful mage or variant thereof. Another thought that occurs is that “when he rises” may refer to Morrigans kid. But as that kid may not exist in certain playthroughs I’m not sure how to reconcile it. I only ever played through ‘Witch Hunt’ with a character who allowed the baby to be born. I’m suprised that particular plot wasn’t touched upon in DA2, it seems like way to big a deal to ignore.

I get the feeling that whenever the big secret is revealed we will all be kicking ourselves as it was heavily foreshadowed. Personally I think I need to examine the codex of both games in more detail. I’m sure there are hints buried in there. It’s difficult to spend the time reading the lore, when there’s an awesome game to be played. I must take myself over to the bioware forum, some of the guys over there are really good at analysing this stuff. Although that forum can be a bit ‘difficult’ at times.

Now I’m really jonesing for another playthrough, but I’m determined to wait for the new DLC. I’m really looking forward to meeting Code… I mean Tallis

can’t wait for that DLC myself…though I made the mistake of “Okay I’ll get to the third act then leave it for the DLC” …so over the weekend I went through all of part 2…then started part 3 and have wiped out like 75 percent of the stuff to do in act 3 already…going to have to stop or I’ll end up finishing the game before the DLC comes out!

started the New Mark of the Assassin DLC tonight w Felicia Day

think I’m probably in the second half of it at least and without spoiling anything I will say that it is frakking AWESOME so far, much better than Legacy, and I really liked Legacy

probably won’t get to play at all tomorrow or the day after but I’ll pop back in this thread this weekend, hopefully others are savoring it’s goodness right now

I’ve got the new DLC downloaded but probably won’t get a chance to play it for a little while. I just picked up Deus Ex and I want to finish it first. However what I did do was watch the first part of Dragon Age Redemption. It looks pretty good, the episode was just under 10 minutes. I hope they make a DVD of the episodes, ideally included with Dragon Age 3.

I’ve just finished another run through with all the DLC. The DLC is excellent. Hopefully there will be more on the way. I played through as a Rogue, probably my least favourite class. A mage is way more fun. I missed out on one achievement, the one where you have to side with the templars 5 times. I forgot all about it. I guess I’ll have to have another run through to get it. I’ll give it a while though.

I’ve held off finishing my 4th run through (2nd time as a mage) on the third act because I want to play more DLC with that character, c’mon Bioware DA team I know you got more in you! with all the DLC they released for DA: O DA2 is kind of lacking

makes me wonder if they’ve started on a DA3 to try and get it out before the next round of consoles? Or will they crank out tons of DLC for this gen while working on a new engine and game for release next gen?

I only think that because wasn’t the rumor that the next Xbox was going to hit holiday next year and that it would be revealed in January or something?

I think you can play DLC post endgame if you want. There’s an autosave post game that will take you to Hawke’s estate. You can’t actually go anywhere else but you can access the ‘Mementos’ so I assume you can play the DLC. I think there’s almost certainly more DLC for DA2 coming, I would put quite a bit of money that Felicia Day will be returning.

hmmm my personal opinion is that they’ve set Tallis up to be a love interest in DA3, perhaps she teams up as the Qun’s representative in Orlais where the head of the chantry is, really just to keep an eye on things, and works with whoever we’ll be playing as then (hopefully it’d be the Champion again) I’m still dead set that DA3 or at least the big events in it will be taking place there

She’d be great as a permanent party member in DA3. Plus it would make the decision about who to romance really easy. While I’d like to see Hawke again, I know it will annoy me as they’ll have to come up with some BS reason why the badass champion who can defeat high dragons just by looking at gets nerfed to level 1 and struggles with hurlocks. If I had to pick one party member to carry through to DA3 it would be Varric. He never leaves my party in DA2

ugh you’re right…I hope we at least get mention of Hawke though…just doesn’t seem like the kind of person that would just ride off into the sunset with whoever he/she romanced in DA2 and live out their days, The Champion HAS to be up to something

but yeah…if Tallis is a permanent party member in DA3 there’s essentially no thought given about who’d I would romance first

I don’t remember the quote exactly, but there’s a bit of dialogue in the epilogue about both Hawke and The Warden disappearing. That’s certainly not accidental. Hopefully the import save game system will import the character models as well. I imagine there will be uproar if they give The Warden a voice or even a name for that matter.

correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think there’s an ending where Hawke dies right? but there is for the Warden…honestly I could live with the Warden not really being involved in DA3 but Hawke NEEDS to be considering Hawke was the one who set the whole uprising into action

I forgot all about the possibility of The Warden dying. I haven’t tried importing my warden who died into any of the DLC or DA2. But I though I read somewhere that you could import him/her into Awakenings and they pretty much ignore the whole dying thing. He/She was only mostly dead. There are a couple of mentions of The Warden in DA2, but I don’t know how these conversations play out if and dead Warden is imported

Bioware have the experience now of making sequels to games with multiple branching points, Mass Effect is the obvious example. I’m sure they’ll be able to make the storyline of DA3 take into account DA:O and DA2 choices

If I have the time in the run up to DA3, I might give both games another run through. The last time I played DA:O was pre-release of DA2. Now with the information I have I can make a better save game to import. For example I want to keep Nathaniel Howe in my party during the Awakenings endgame. I’ve yet to play the ‘Finding Nathaniel’ mission and I’d like to.

Combat is worse and too fast, the kill sequences etc made the original game.
Its not DA.
No one wants many new Characters in a sequel.

I think this need a small bump with some news. The animated film “Dawn of the Seeker” has just been released (well in the West, its been out in Japan for several months). I watched it yesterday. It gives some backstory for Cassandra (the seeker questioning Varric in the framing story of DA2). It’s not a bad film and worth a watch for any DA fan.
