I’m fairly certain the MMO will at least touch upon Revan’s fate since they’ve been doing a timeline of events that focuses pretty heavily on Revan prior to and during the events of KOTOR and since the novels have given Revan credit for Darth Bane starting the Rule of Two. Revan is a pretty influential Sith and Jedi in the SW universe. I would however love to have a proper KOTOR3 because KOTOR is still my favorite SW game ever and Revan and Bastila are some of my favorite SW characters.
Sandal is kinda creepy at times in this one, especially if you randomly click on him in the Hawke estate. I did love his scene in the Deep Roads though. The fact that he keeps turning up surrounded by bodies is making wonder if he’s more than a simple dwarf.
He also seems to give a bit of prophecy that sounds rather ominous. That being said I really like Sandal and I’m rooting for him to be the first dwarf Mage or something equally awesome.
I think I missed his answer, because I’m still a bit confused as to why this is. Is it because he and justice essentially became one being? And there’s no separation of the two of them?
Yeah Justice is the reason he’s different personality wise. Since they joined Justice and Anders have really become a new person, Vengeance, and so their personalities meshed. A bit of Anders humor pops out from time to time just like Justice tends to. It’s a good reason for the voice actor being different but I hope it wasn’t just so they could keep Anders original VA for Cullen.
Yeah, I agree with you there, but the transition from Merrill in DA:O to 2 has been very weird for me. Same with the keeper. I get that they wanted to give the Elves Welsh and Irish accents, but it’s a very large leap.
I like this new Anders; he totally caught me off guard after meeting him in Awakening. It’s a nice charge that really divulges into his character. Thanks for the answer
You’re welcome. I like Anders in both games up to the end of Act 3 because I simply can’t forgive him. I adore the Grand Cleric, probably because of her line during the Follow the Qun quest about her name not liking it, and what he does to her breaks my heart.
The change in Merrill is kind of shocking but I let it go because I love listening to Eve Myles talk so much. There’s very few people I love to listen to more than her. If Bioware were to get Simone Lahbib to do some voice work in Dragon Age 3 I’d be in heaven because her voice and accent are the reason I watched both Bad Girls and Wire in the Blood.
I did too in one of my games. I love her voice but ever since I did her romance the one time I simply can’t avoid romancing Isabela, she really is my favorite character in this game. She makes me laugh so much, especially when her and Aveline are at each others throats. I even bought myself the new Isabela shirt they have over at the Bioware store, along with the Dragon tee and new Seeker logo shirt. Man I just keep paying Bioware so much money. I bought 2 copies of DA2, bought my second copy of DAO for my PS3, bought a new N7 hoody and the N7 laptop messenger bag. Bioware is killing my bank account.
another reason of why I’m certain DA3 will be in Orlais is because Sandal is going there, then I remember reading somewhere that Morrigan ended up there? and we have the ‘vatican’ of the Chantry in Orlais, as well as the Orleasians wanting to attack Fereldan again, its all heating up big time there!
I think Bioware dropped some major hints about DA3 visiting Orlais. It’s really the most logical choice of locations after the way DA2 ended. Hawke just helped kick start a holy war of sorts, the Seekers are searching for Hawke (and the Warden), a Grand Cleric has been victim of a terrorist plot and to top it all off the current Divine is the same Revered Mother who helped Leliana escape in Leliana’s Song. I don’t see someone who helped Leliana out and who has a past tied up with Marjolaine letting that go quite so easily. Plus Bioware is already saying that they are thinking about making Cassandra a big part of DA3. And then when you add that many of the Orlesian nobles want to take Ferelden back it makes even more sense.
I kinda want DA3 though to cover more than one specific area. In DAO we were limited to specific parts of Ferelden, in DA2 we were limited to Kirkwall and the surrounding areas but I’d really love to see Orlais, Tevinter, Antiva, Rivain and many of the other places we haven’t seen yet. If we are going to put a stop to a holy war I really want to do it a bigger scale, since even the blight in DAO seems to be a rather small one according to the lore.
Someone just pointed out to me that Merrill, the Keeper and Merrill’s mirror are all from the Dalish Elf origin story in Origins. You even find out what happened to the mirror there.
Had to go back and look but, yeah. Now I’m wondering if you import a DA:O safe where your Warden was the Dalish Elf if any of that played out any differently.
It is just a few dialogue changes, the only origin that I think really ties into the story for more than a few dialogue changes is the human Mage origin. The human Mage origin is related to Hawke and I think ties the two games together in a way the other origins don’t.
I am still undecided about the new graphics in the game. It really does look great. The elves look odd and otherworldly rather than thin humans, which I do like. It takes a bit to get used to if you played DAO though. The Qunari are so massively different I kept waiting for one of the characters to explain why. Took me the first third of the game to realize that this was a restyling rather than two types of Quanari. Still, but for DAO shock, they look great.
I did have some issues with “old friends”, especially Zevran. He just didn’t look like Zevran, even if you added a few years on him. He looked…odd. Alistair was odd too, but more forgivable as an aging human. Hard to explain how Lilianna managed to avoid aging though. She looked great but I didn’t recognize her until she introduced herself. Anders was actually pretty good. But Zevran… I just couldn’t get over what they did to my poor, poor Zevran
