very cool trailer and website. When I saw the trailer before Terminator, the face wasn’t pizelized.
I am really looking forward to this. I saw the short film that it has been adapted from and thot that was really great. The director and writer is also the guy who was originally picked by Peter Jackson to make the Halo movie (before it got scrapped).
I am stoked
looks like quality sci-fi
I’m excited about District 9 as well. Ever since I first saw “Alive in Joberg” I’ve kept an eye on this director. As soon as I first saw the viral D-9 website, I knew it had to be a feature adaptation.
I am a really big fan of all types of cinéma vérité (especially when they take otherwise outlandish sci-fi and lend them some real realism, e.g. Cloverfield), and the documentary style is one that isn’t used that often. The subject matter of District 9 is, in my opinion, perfectly suited to it.
If anyone has downloaded the “Rules and Regulations” manual, Let me tell you, It’s funny yet frightening. Hard to beleive we’ve actually been through all this before.
This looks pretty good. It has a “V” vibe going for it, like just before you saw Jane Badler chomp down that mouse.
The Multi-National United website is genius, too.
Looks like a don’t-miss movie of the summer!
saw the preview—looks tight!
This continues to look fantastic.
is there a release date?
Last I heard–Aug 14
Putting this on the long list of must see movies for this summer. Looks good.
My brother emailed me the trailer for this awhile back.
Yes, it looks interesting. Definitely on my list.
This is on my list too. I am really excited about it. Glad I found this thread to learn a bit more about the movie.
Thanks.

I hate to say this but I don’t get what the plot is supposed to be…It looks nice but I just don’t get it…
It’s a fictitious documentary (a.k.a. mockumentary) about an alien “immigration” of sorts. While it’s cool sci-fi in and of itself, the motivation for the story is social commentary on the South African sociopolitical situation.
Ohhh ok.
Thanks.
